TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes - [23].
3. As we find, conditions are developing nominally, normally.
4. There should not be any hindrance towards full, normal development, if there is plenty of exercise taken, - not of the nature where there is too much pulling, lifting or hauling things about, but such as walking, riding, - and:
5. We would occasionally, - once in two weeks, - have a thorough relaxing of the system osteopathically, for the BODILY forces to ADJUST themselves to the DEVELOPMENT of those conditions with the body.
6. As should be understood, of course, these should not be for corrections, other than ASSISTING the body in correcting its new positions, - especially through those areas from the first of the dorsals to the pelvic portions, of course, and the coccyx area.
7. We would continue those activities for keeping more of the balance, - as the Codiron; but these we would gradually ease off with in quantity, but continue to keep sufficient for the supplying of the vitamins and the necessary iron and cod liver oil activity for the system. These we would keep.
8. Rather than the calcium tablets, use CALCIOS. This is better assimilated, and does not leave as much dregs to become a hardship to the liver AND the kidneys, and works better with the activities of the system as related to the cod liver oil for better development.
9. As we find, the physician we would continue, - and making preparations for Haynes to care for same. While this in some respects offers (mentally) some disturbing conditions, we find that as to abilities - other than Harned - there's not a better in this vicinity, - and one that may be relied upon, if all conditions are thoroughly understood.
10. Ready for questions.
11. (Q) How often should the Calcios be taken, and how much?
    (A) Three times a week, what would be spread on a cracker or wafer - as butter.
12. (Q) Is my baby developing normally?
    (A) The baby is developing normally.
13. (Q) Is my system receiving proper nourishments for best developments?
    (A) As we have indicated, - read what has been given.
14. (Q) Should I wear a Maternity Supporter?
    (A) When the time comes. This had best be judged by the one giving the manipulations for the body to better adjust itself; fitted even by the one making the manipulations, would be advisable.
15. (Q) Any changes advised in my daily routine?
    (A) Do as has been indicated. Do not OVERDO, but keep plenty of exercise. Don't try to jump or dance or the like, nor kick up the heels, but plenty of walking, plenty of keeping in the open is the better for the body.
16. We are through with this Reading.

[Calcios is manufactured and distributed by Dr. A. A. Nichoson, Greenvale, L.I., N.Y., through Colloidal Health Products Corp. It comes in a syrupy paste and sells for $2.50 a jar. According to the Readings, it is the best way of assimilating free calcium. Later taken off the market.]

BACKGROUND

1. 4/03/39 Letter: "I have beautiful news - we're expecting a baby in the early Fall and are so happy about it... I'm getting on fine and feel grand and am sure there won't be any trouble. However, I'd like to be positive about it and will sincerely appreciate it if you will add me to the check readings when you can arrange it.
"I haven't been to a doctor yet. I can't help feeling hesitant about them after my experience last summer. I just don't feel very confident about any of them and am sincerely in a quandary as to whether or not to go back to Dr. Haynes. I'd like to ask that in the check reading."
2. 5/04/39 Letter: "[1005] was after me so much about not having been to a doctor that I finally went to Dr. Thomas - and I like him fine - although I'll have to have another doctor for the last act. Dr. Thomas doesn't deliver any more... [See questions in 23-14 Text of Reading.]
"If any of these questions prove or seem unnecessary - I don't want to be piggish. I'm just so anxious that every- thing be alright this time. I'd feel completely lost if I couldn't have a reading on the subject.
"It seems foolish for me to be going to the doctor even - I'm getting on perfectly - apparently. Never felt better in my life and just can't wait for Sept. 1st."
3. 5/09/39 See 23-14.

REPORTS

1. 5/21/39 Letter: "Thank you again for my reading. I'm so thankful to know that I'm getting on so well. Of course I knew, as far as it's possible to know, that everything was progressing normally, but the 'readings' SEE things that mere 'we-s' can't know...
"That's funny - the reading sending me back to Dr. Haynes. He'll like that. He was very pleased at being recommended last summer. I'll explain to him, too, what it meant by 'disturbing conditions' regarding him. I do have confidence in him - I was just peeved at his attitude."
2. 8/23/39 Letter: "We're very much excited and almost prepared for our big event, which isn't so far off now. I'm going into the home stretch now and am anxious for a check reading for final advice. I've gotten along just perfectly for which I'm grateful to you!
"When can I expect to be confined? Should I go to hospital or remain at home for confinement?" [See other questions which got asked in 23-15.]
3. 8/26/39 See 23-15.
