This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 26th day of March, 1924, in accordance with request made by his mother, [26].

TEXT

1. EC: Now, we find abnormal conditions in the body, and these may be corrected, though they have become in a manner grown with the body, and the development in the developing physical forces has become a part of the physical forces; yet these may be corrected with the proper forces applied in the physical of this body.
2. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, [25] we are speaking of. First:
3. BLOOD SUPPLY, the blood supply is very good at the present time. There has been in times back that bacilli that carried in the system those that affected the tissue, especially the white or lymphatic forces, and system, and hence the inability of the lymphatic centers in extremities to coordinate with the nerve and tissue of the body in those portions of the system. Hence under knees, in arms, in feet, in the locomotories we find those have become taut, and the centers do not function in their normal way and manner.
4. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, these are very good, save where the centers come in contact with these portions of the lymphatic system thus affected, and about each of these ganglia there has formed that in the perineurial sheath itself that which prevents the normal flow, yet has formed a normal flow for the condition.
5. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find these very good in many respects. Some cold and congestion in the system at the present time. Hence the effect as is shown in the elimination in the hepatic circulation. Liver out of order and does not function normally, yet the general condition of the body is very good.
6. Then to bring the normal forces to this body would be through persistent and consistent applications to those parts affected. Give in the system that vibration that will bring the lymphatic circulation, the nerve ganglions, again into that condition that they may be (the condition) absorbed and eliminated from the system.
7. Over the portions then affected we would apply this:
8. Mix pure apple vinegar with sufficient heated and pulverized salt until the solution will be very thick. Massage thoroughly into the joints and into the plexuses that are thus affected; knees, feet, hips, abdomen. This solution once each day. When pain is caused in these portions apply this same solution with heat.
9. Then give into the system that which will eliminate through the proper channels. Let this solution be massaged, of course, into all portions of the body that show this stiffness, this lack of vibration; arms, along the small of the back, through the hips, through the shoulder region; that is brachial plexus, and in the extremities, those of the lymphatic centers that are involved in the condition.
10. In the system take this: To one gallon of rain water, add:

    Sarsaparilla Root........4 ounces,
Yellow Dock Root.........2 ounces,
Sassafras Root...........2 ounces,
Calisaya Bark............2 ounces,
Red Root.................2 ounces,
Elder Flower.............2 ounces.

11. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one quart. Strain while warm and add two drams Balsam of Tolu cut in four ounces of pure grain alcohol. The dose would be two teaspoonfuls mornings and evenings, before meals in the morning, upon retiring in the evenings, after the massage has been taken. Keep the exercises for the body that keep all muscular forces active with the nerves and ligament improvement, without strain.
12. Do that. Keep the mental forces balanced. Keep in the system in the food and diet, not of meats, but of vegetable, fish and game, wild game especially may be used.
13. We will find we will bring the conditions normal for this body. It will take time, it will take patience. The body is deserving it.

REPORTS

1. GD's note: 1/46 A.R.E. Bulletin on THE PHYSICAL READINGS by HLC, re. a study of 12 cases of tuberculosis, quoted from Case [25] on page 7: "No. 25. This reading described a result of tubercular bacilli attacking the lymphatic centers. Liver functions were abnormal. Eliminations were poor. Circulation was poor. There was a tautness under the knees, in arms and in the feet. This is the description of the results of tubercular action. Since the germs were not active in the body at the time of reading, the source of infection might have been obscure without the reading.
   "These notes have been presented with the idea of clarifying the point that a study of a large cross-section of the readings on tuberculosis might reveal causes of the disease that are ignored by many branches of medical science."
2. 5/21/24 Letter from [25]'s mother: "...Thank you very much for your readings. I was a good while getting the drugs. His knee is the same, as yet I see no improvement. Before I wrote to you his doctor here advised his tonsils being taken out. I do not know what to do, as you never advised it. I will write again as soon as he improves. I thank you with all my heart, and trust I can do more for you later..."
3. 6/06/24 Letter from [25]'s mother: "...My son's knee is no better but for 2 or 3 days cannot bend it and it is painful to move. He has not taken all the medicine, it is so tender he cannot endure severe rubbing with the salt. Should it be liquid or grains of salt, instead of brine? Sometime ago the doctor said for him to have his tonsils removed. If you examine him again please find out about this. I will pay you when I can. Prayerfully..."
4. 6/13/24 at 11:00 A.M. reading attempted: "No."
5. 8/08/24 Letter from [25]'s mother: "...I have been from home 2 months. Your letter regarding my son only last night came to me. We had trouble getting the medicine. He goes to school on a bus, some mornings he failed to massage his knee, at times it was so tender and painful the salt made it worse. He and I do believe in a Divine power. We have tried several doctors and I felt you could tell us the right thing. He is as when I first wrote - knee stiff and painful hurts to move. One doctor said to remove his tonsils. I asked you about this. ...I will certainly follow directions in regard to my son and will pay you when my husband is paid off. ...Hoping to hear just what condition you found him in and if he should have tonsils removed..."
6. 8/16/24 Letter from [25]'s mother: "...Yours received in regard to giving a reading for my son, he said you sent a date in June and it was too late to return the card, so he was at home on that date but never heard from you in regard to a diagnosis... I will send money as soon as I can..."
