12/25/30 Letter from [
48] to Edgar Cayce: "My husband has
brought me your data which I have read. We had both read
much of this before. I am in time with your work and willing
to submit to a reading.
"I am in unbearable pain and each day it is worse. If I can
just hold on until next Wednesday, I shall be glad. In case
I become much worse we may not be able to wait. There are
two things however which puzzle me. I know you are busy but
we will appreciate so much having these matters explained.
In the event you prescribe an operation, will it be done in
the operating room at the Cayce Hospital, and what are the
rates for an operative patient - in fact what would the
expense of the operation and after care be?
"We have never been faced before with both illness and lack
of funds. The condition of our finances has made sleeping
rare for surely no wife can see herself helpless and her
husband in distress and not worry.
"When the doctors spoke of an operation and pleaded to do it,
my whole reason was that we could not afford it, there was no
way.
"Now however I am at the end of my resources and something of
course has to be done. But my recovery will be more rapid if
only there is some way to keep down expense, or if your
readings suggests an operation, is there any way it can be
done reasonably..."
