This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Phillips Hotel, Dayton, Ohio, this 25th day of June, 1923.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. It is rather a serious condition as we have in this body. The body has grown rather weak. His coughing spells and hiccough spells are bad for him. Not very much to be done for this body for a cure. May be some things done to bring relief. May be some extension made to the life of the body.
2. Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, [50], we are speaking of, ... Pike, R.F.D., Phillipsburgh, Pa.: The blood, we find, does become supercharged with the bacilli and poisons as being carried in the system, present over the whole system, that of the body attempting to eliminate most of the poisons through the capillary circulation, hence the condition as is presented in the system throughout, localized in some places, as we find here. In others, a general debilitated condition in the organs of elimination, kidneys and liver, kidneys especially, you see.
3. Nerve forces in the body are kept deadened too much to give any reaction. The suffering becomes intense by the reaction from the stimulation.
4. Were the blood supply in sufficient condition, better were the operation here for these conditions carried through, for with the submerging of all the physical and mental forces, the reaction through these, as well as the production of the resistive force in the body as would be necessary from an operation to produce coagulation, would be very good. As the conditions are at present we had best give that to the system that will alleviate without producing the reaction to nerves and that will assist the body in gaining sufficient strength to be able to endure the operation, see? We would take in the system:

   Eucalyptol............................2 minims,
Rectified Oil of Turp.................1 minim,
Heroin.............................1/22 of a grain.

5. This quantity would be a dose. Should be at least one dose very four hours until there is some relief to the body.
6. Massage well into the groin, thin portions of the body, abdomen, arm pits, elbows, knees, that is, under the knees, Golden Seal. Moisten the parts well and rub well into the body. This would be well to do at least twice each day.
7. Keep the circulation going as much as possible.
8. Give the high enema of Oil to keep down temperature through this portion of body until we can get the reaction through the system.
9. This we would do for this body at the present time. When the conditions have set themselves, we will be able to give the other information as to when and how the operation should be given to this body. Do not attempt it at this time.

11. (Q) What kind of oil should be used for enemas?
    (A) Olive Oil or Russian White Oil.
12. (Q) What is the scientific name for the condition of this body?
    (A) Has none.
13. (Q) What causes him to cough and hiccough so much?
    (A) Condition of the eliminated elements in liver and hepatic circulation. These are choked. The application will localize the condition, then we will be able to operate successfully. As it is distributed over the system, the blood is not capable of taking care of it. Do as we have given if we would bring the best to this body.
