This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12th day of January, 1929, in accordance with request made by her son, Mr. [900].

Present: Edgar Cayce; [900], Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. Cayce, [137], Thos. B. Brown, and Mr. L. B. Cayce.

TEXT

1. [900]: You will have before you the body of [106], who is located at the Esplanade Hotel, 74th Street & West End Ave., Apt. 11-R (Physical Suggestion, etc.).
2. EC: Yes, we have the body [106] - this we have had before. In the general physical conditions of the body, these we find show improvements from those as have existed. In the reactions as have come about, as come about at times, from MENTAL forces as pertaining TO conditions through which and of which the physical conditions become a part - these, we find, cause the greater distresses to the body, both in the reflex as pertain to physical and as pertaining to that as may be considered either that of exaggerations to the conditions or to the active forces of reflexes pertaining to same. These conditions, then, vary according to the mental conditions as contribute TO this condition; yet with the continuation of those applications as pertain to the developed physical conditions, and of the corrections of those elements within the physical as produce this reaction - in fact, the body shows, and will show continued improvement - until these periods pass, wherein these reactions will not occur to disturb the physical, nor the retraction of mental attributes towards same.
3. Keep, then, those suggestions in application towards physical forces for this body, and we will find these will come about in a normal, nominal manner. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) That is, the osteopath treatment and the [Radium] pad?
   (A) And that about the body that keeps the cheery mental attitude, in the way and manner as of companion - as has been given often. Cheery companionship is WONDERFUL for the body; yet this, as is seen at times, may be overdone - but those companionships that are in the manner kept in the way as has been outlined prove effectual and prove beneficial. These are necessary attributes toward the betterment of the physical forces of this body, [106].
5. (Q) Are the present companionships suitable?
   (A) These are very good. There are periods and times when we see there are irritations that arise. These are more from outside influences than of the companionships.
6. (Q) What are these outside influences?
   (A) Visitors that occur, that were - are - sometimes rather tattletales. This is not countenanced, and causes irritations to the body. As to individuals' names - these, well it's best that these be kept more away than more in companionship with the body. These may be ferreted out best by the companion and companions of the body.
7. (Q) Would it be best that I, [900] and [136] and the baby, [142], remain at home - rather than go on our trip, for this body, [106]?
   (A) For this body [106] no - not best that the body remain at home. While there are IRRITATIONS as concerning same, in the way of ANXIETIES - rather than of any definite purposes other than those as are mentally built in the imaginative conditions - THESE ARE rather anxieties. As to the conditions for the BODIES as would go, as outlined, these are beneficial.
8. (Q) That is, we SHOULD go? [See 1/16/28 note in 142-2].
   (A) The bodies SHOULD go.
9. (Q) [137] asks would it be best for him to go.
   (A) Physically, for self, as has been given, WELL that the body relax, physically and mentally. THIS condition, as related to the body [106], again causes some anxiety, yet THESE conditions - with the proper stimulative forces of the companionship during the periods and returns - will really be beneficial to the body [106], as WELL as considering the BENEVOLENT forces as will act toward the good of those considered.
10. (Q) Regarding the cold and chest trouble that [106] suffers from, can anything be done for that?
    (A) Those applications as are being used respecting these are effective, and will reduce and remove the trouble and conditions, with the continuation of these - we will find physical forces responding to these.
11. (Q) How long will it be before somewhere near normal conditions are reached?
    (A) As from cold, congestion, and those bronchial forces or troubles, as has been seen - five to eight days. From those as from the purely physical forces, as responsive with the mental and the attitude as is brought about by retractions in the physical forces of the system, these should be from three to five months.
12. (Q) Are the osteopath treatments being given properly, or as they should be given?
    (A) EXCELLENT are the reactions to the body from the osteopathic treatments as have been, and are being administered for the body.
13. (Q) Will Dr. Berger's son be efficient in administering these treatments as has been directed from here?
    (A) Not as efficient as some; but as efficient sufficient to keep up these reactions for the physical forces of the body.
14. (Q) Considering my mother's nature and disposition, who might be a better one?
    (A) THIS better than changing from others to the body, when nature and conditions as surround all are considered.
15. (Q) [137] asks if his trip to Palm Beach will benefit his family, [140] and [143] as well as himself.
    (A) Good. Excellent for EACH of the family.
16. (Q) Any danger of flu?
    (A) Always DANGER in flu, but as for this particular trip - no.
17. (Q) In other words, as much danger right in N. Y. City?
    (A) MORE right in N. Y. City and out, than would be in Palm Beach.
18. (Q) Will you answer regarding experiences by [137] and [900] at this time - dream experiences?
    (A) We have the bodies, the enquiring minds, [137] and [900]. The experiences as come to each in their varied forms present for each that which, applied in the daily life, brings with same the more complete and better understanding of the varied forms of life's forces in action. Life in this sense meaning, not that termed as JUST an experience - but the inception rather of the SPIRIT of any and every activity as related to an experience or life. Ready for experiences.
19. (Q) That is, the process of application brings greater realization; therefore greater or broader experiences and life in greater abundance?
    (A) Life in greater abundance - but rather the UNDERSTANDING of the real meaning of "God is SPIRIT and seeks such to worship him", or be one WITH Him, knowing self then to be self - yet one with that Spirit, making all things possible through the application of that understanding of Spirit in life's experiences or life's conditions, in whatever form they may be presented.
20. (Q) In the experience of [900]'s last night. Will you interpret this, please? The dream in which I was in communication, or thought I was, with my father.
    (A) This, as presented - and as UNDERSTOOD IN PART by the body - the true relationships as necessary in the understanding of conditions (as first taken). As thought OVER, there enters then rather that of a correlation of reason WITH the application of conditions, and then doubt began. In the application of that seen, then, is rather THAT the forces as manifested in that presented brings the true relationship of self with others and of things as applied, see?
21. (Q) That is, it did not specifically refer to a deferment of my trip?
    (A) Rather that it referred to those varied conditions as were being presented in the condition of that brought ABOUT by the trip, see? and the deferment as referred to rather that of the true relationship brought about by the trip itself, see?
22. (Q) It did not mean that my father's will, [5769]'s will, was that I should not go?
    (A) Rather that SHOULD go, as indicated from the variation from the very first inception of the condition, as the first impression was the full understanding by self. The reasoning of self as respecting the thing brought the fear and presentiment that it was to be deferred, see?
23. (Q) Then we have that some malicious individuality, as same - seen from here - could function in the Spirit plane - was the one who misrepresented?
    (A) That as presented by the entity attempting to give [5769] that as was meant for the understanding of the body, see?
24. (Q) That's on the Ouija Board -
    (A) That's as seen.
25. (Q) Now regarding [137]'s experience of Fleischman and Radio, he felt that Radio was a buy -
    (A) And WILL be a buy for many days yet!
26. (Q) Conditions, then, in radio have NOT changed -
    (A) Simply in that of the attempt to manipulate that small portion (as considered to the whole) of that that may be interchangeable, or exchanged from one to another, in the attempt to drive down the price; yet, as has been given, all those in Radio that may be held, may be held, will bring many fold for that as is seen.
27. (Q) Does it look like that Radio will sell at 300, and the new at 60, before it goes to 400 again?
    (A) Not unless there is the success of influencing some of those HOLDING in box - or they not deliver when the command comes, see?
28. (Q) The shorts trying to bring out box stock?
    (A) Trying to bring out box stocks. Now this may go to 300 - this may go to 60, but it will be by there being brought out a large BLOCK of box stock; and that is not likely under EXISTENT conditions, with money being made easy.
29. (Q) Was [137]'s feeling of Radio at 74 being a purchase an intuitive or a direction from these forces?
    (A) A direction intuitively presented from those forces, as has been given as would make the body a POWER - and an associate with those IN power.
30. (Q) Has he acted properly on his intuition?
    (A) As long as they are acted on in the manner as has been indicated, and as being indicated, by the body - there need be no fear that they will misguide or misdirect this body, in bringing about those things desirable in the life and for the use of same.
31. (Q) A dream of some time ago pertaining to [5768]?
    (A) The entity has been warned concerning this body, again and again. These have been presented to the forces of the system as respecting this body - The intuitive forces as respecting the activities of this body and its relation to others, as well as to self, is correct. Keep those. We are through for the present.
