BACKGROUND
9/23/25 Letter: "You have been highly recommended to
me...have tried everything (for the past 5 years); doctors
don't seem to do me any good. I have something like
rheumatism in my legs and back hips and can't walk. I just
suffer death. My bladder is bad. I know if anyone can tell
me what has caused my trouble, you can."
[Said she was enclosing a dollar but it was not in the
letter. GD.]
REPORTS
6/05/28 Letter: "I received your letter [form letter re.
building fund for Cayce Hospital] and I am sorrow can't help
you. But if you can tell me what can be done for me - I
suffer all the time with my legs and feet and kidneys and
can't walk - if could only walk I sure would help you. But
the way it is I can't help myself. Would you advise me to go
to Hot Springs or do you think I could be done any good if
would come to your hospital?"
"P.S. Dr. (Cayce), at the time you gave me that other
reading I didn't have the means to carry it all out. Didn't
have a violet ray. But I think I can manage it all rite this
time. I believe I am a little better than I was when I wrote
to you the other time, unless it is my kidneys and that
bearing down on my bladder. My right leg is some better.
The left one isn't. Tell me if I have used anything that has
helped me."
6/18/28 Letter: "I surely appreciate your willingness to
help me. Mr. Cayce, I won't have much to pay you at the
present time but if you can help me to get rid of this
rheumatism in my legs, hips and feet I sure will pay you...
Examine my kidneys good, bladder, for the doctors has wanted
to remove my left kidney. Do you think that the doctor could
give me serum treatment and do me any good?"
6/25/28 Letter: "I will be at home, either in my wheel chair
or in bed. I also want to know whether I have used anything
that has done me any good, if so let me know what it is. The
doctor gave me some serum treatments that I thought done me
some good. You can give me reading and hold it for can't
send any money until after Sat. for that is my husband's pay
day. He is a boiler maker helper, and that is his pay day."
[In her first letter she indicated she had two children. GD]
