This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of September, 1927, in accordance with request made by her husband, Mr. [900].

TEXT

1. LBC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions I might ask you regarding same.
2. EC: We have the body here. We have had this before, you see.
3. Now, we find there are many changes in the physical forces of this body since last we had this here. Some have been for the betterment. Others are not so well.
4. We find there have been some indiscretions as regarding the eating of the body, with the warnings as were given as respecting the poor eliminations as were seen in the physical forces, that produce too much elimination through the capillary circulation, and - as seen - there were given those conditions for the improvement of the condition, through that of directing the eliminations through the other channels. These in part have been followed, and these - in that part - have been assisted; yet we find acute conditions have arisen from there being too much of an overtaxed condition for the alimentary canal, and this caused the distresses as were experienced, and as have been experienced, by the body.
5. To assist, and to relieve the conditions at the present time, we would take a cathartic - principally that of Syrup of Figs, that the eliminations may be set up properly.
6. When the body has rested from the eliminations so set up (and they should be kept up for at least two days, eliminating through these channels, see), we would take then a course of equal parts salts, cream of tartar, and sulphur. The dose would be half a teaspoonful of the mixture, and should be taken at least twice a day until the system has been thoroughly cleansed of these conditions or poisons, and the eliminations set properly.
7. Well too, when at least half of these properties have been taken, that the manipulation osteopathically be given to cause the eliminations to be set properly, as it were, within the body.
8. This, as we see, will bring about the near normal conditions of the body.
9. Be careful of the diet while this is being taken, and do not eat any grease, or any food that causes the activity of the sugars in the system, or too much of any foods that cause the creating of alcohol or extra sugars in the body. Rather that, then, of green vegetables, and of beans, soups, or of such natures. See?
10. (Q) Would it be advisable for the body to make the trip down to Virginia Beach today?
    (A) The change - were the eliminations set up properly - would be very good for the body. Out in the open is especially good for the body. This would put the body in the open more, see?
11. (Q) What quantity of the Syrup of Figs should be taken, and how often?
    (A) Enough to make a laxative for the system.
12. (Q) Any further suggestions for this body at this time?
    (A) Many suggestions may be made as regarding the physical conditions - for much has been given the body as respecting this very condition that has arisen in the system, as respecting the eliminations as would be set up from the various existent conditions for, with the body creating those forces as were set in the system when these warnings were given, these must be eliminated, and the diet and the excretory system, and the eliminations throughout the alimentary canal, must be kept in the proper condition, else we may expect many of the resultant conditions from excesses that will arise in the system by LITTLE indiscretions that would cause distresses, or dis-ease - not disease - but dis-ease, see? Disease only when allowed to remain in system, see?

1. 9/05/27 Mrs. [136]'s next was a dream interpretation reading, 136-70.
2. 9/12/27 She had another physical, 136-71, apparently regarding an acute touch of neuritis or neuralgia.
3. 9/17/27 Her next was a dream interpretation, 136-72.
4. 9/26/27 Husband [900]'s letter: "In addition to above dreams of [136], [See typed into background of 136-73], would appreciate your taking a physical for [136] when you get a chance. Somehow the boils continue to come, and although with diminished severity, they nevertheless keep coming. She has finished the arsenic treatment and I am waiting for some grain alcohol to mix with a commercial solution of iodine to use the battery [Radio-Active Appliance as recommended in previous physical]. Brown [Thomas B. Brown] writes that the large plate should be fastened first to the left of the umbilicus. Where should small plate be fastened - on left or right ankle or wrist?"
5. 9/29/27 EC replied: "Whichever is most convenient, but should be alternated; small plate attach BEFORE you attach large plate to umbilicus."
