This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of December, 1928, in accordance with request made by his parents, Mr. [900] and Mrs. [136].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [142]. This we have had before. We find the general physical forces are very good. While not ABSOLUTELY normal, yet the disturbances as have existed with the digestion, without too MUCH attention, will gradually adjust themselves if there will be given sufficient of the exercise, light and heat, as is nominal for the developing body. There should NOT be uneasiness as respecting the conditions. The body in its development easily becomes used to, or spoiled to, conditions that make for fretfulness; yet were the nominal or normal things carried out as has been suggested for the body, we find there should be no need of other than the normal and nominal development. As for the diets - in the change as has been suggested, as given for same - these should not be given too OFTEN; that is, don't CONTINUE to feed every few minutes. But the body following, in a general way, the outlines as has been given, there will be seen the normal, nominal development. Ready for questions.
2. (Q) Is he getting sufficient amount of food?
   (A) Rather over abundant - most of the time has been. Best that a body's digestive system REST when disturbances are there, than overloading same to create MORE poisons, that create MORE disturbances, that cause MORE anxiety!
3. (Q) How should the milk be given and when?
   (A) Regular, nominal way, and as has been outlined - most of same comes with the cereals, or after the food, as has been outlined for same.
4. (Q) Should he be vaccinated now?
   (A) As soon as the conditions have been set near nominal, for the conditions as are contemplated - this is necessary - but we would certainly use iodine soon after such vaccination. Tincture of iodine rubbed over same.
5. (Q) Does the body need any more Castoria at the present time, in broken doses?
   (A) WELL, until the system gets NOMINALLY set, see? As long as there is sourness or belching. This will be necessary to change from time to time, or resort to this as the cleanser. This will be the acting of the best with the body under the present conditions - Castoria. Of course enemas may be used to cleanse the lower system. This is dependent upon the action or the secretions as thrown off from the system. Watch the activity of the kidney and of the digestive system. According to the way the digestion takes place, alternate or change the foods - especially the amount of milks. The milk, as has been given, has been the disagreeing element - on account of OVER or EXCESS feeding.
6. (Q) Is there anything wrong with the kind of milk that is now being used?
   (A) Rather in the manner that has been outlined; that is, half milk and half cream, rather than all of either, see?
7. (Q) Any further suggestions regarding this body?
   (A) Follow these for the present, as we find them.
8. We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1. 12/01/28 Parents obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 142-5 for him in re stomach upset, fever, etc.
2. 12/05/28 Parents requested advice on whether or not to vaccinate for smallpox, which would be necessary if they took the child on the trip with them.

REPORTS

1. 12/05/28 EC wrote the father [See detailed letter under 900-417 Reports]:
   "Certainly hope the baby [142] is getting along nicely. It would seem so from the information gotten this morning and from my conversation with [136]. Of course you will know more about how you will want to handle the vaccination than I could tell you, possibly. But I'll give you my experience, and what has been indicated from the readings. Of course you know you will have to have the system in as good condition as possible, for we know there have been instances where there have been awful results from bad vaccine. But, as the reading indicated, AFTER the vaccination you, yourself, may take half water and half iodine and with a little cotton rub it over the place - which will sterilize it, not preventing it from taking, but preventing it from hurting or being so severe. Now, you may not want to take this chance. Of course that's only been given in the reading. We have tried it out on our own boy, and the result was wonderful - while on the other one we thought he was going to lose his arm. That's why we asked about it in the next one." [GD's note: Apparently there is no copy on file of the reading he refers to in re sterilizing the vaccination mark with half iodine, half water.]
