This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of February, 1928, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. Now, in many respects we find there are changes for the better throughout this body. The effects of the catarrhal conditions, as have existed throughout the various portions of the system, show improvements. The result from same is that various portions show some reaction that is apparently not in keeping with bettered conditions. Yet, as seen, with the building of the system, that as produces irritation - or that as causes subjugation of functioning portions of the system showing enlivenment - brings, as it were, distresses at times, with the condition: such as seen with the ear, the eye, the digestive system, and the eliminating system, especially through the colon.
2. In the effects, then, and in the conditions to be applied for the further improvements of the body, we would recharge more often the Radium Appliance; that is, leave it a little longer in strong sunlight. We would connect better those connections on the anodes of the Radio-Active Appliance, and polish the anodes or plates themselves - and this, as we see, will give better vibratory forces for the body.
3. For that condition in the intestinal system we would add now those properties of Occy-Crystine for the body; that is, this taken regularly, consistently, persistently, will give better reaction to all of the intestinal system. It will cause the reactions to be such that the system will produce better assimilation, giving better reaction from the blood supply. Only take small doses, half to a teaspoonful each day, and this is to be made in two doses. When the half teaspoonful is given, take at least two glasses of water with same, see? When the teaspoonful is given, take at least three glasses of water with same, see? These doses would be half of the quantity each day; that is, half in the morning, half in the evening, see?
4. For those conditions that produce irritation in the eliminating channels [hemorrhoids], with that being applied [the Tim] we would take those exercises which will stretch arms high above the head, bending the body forward, stooping as far forward as the body can. Take this exercise at least three times each day, for three to five minutes each period, see?
5. Let the diet be in keeping with that which is easily assimilated. Sufficient of the Iron, Beef and Wine to stimulate appetite [Wyeth's Iron, Beef and Wine?]. Sufficient of beef juices as will be assimilated by the system; that is, teaspoonful at least each day. Plenty of green vegetables, and fruits such as oranges, grapefruit and such. Cereals, as grapenuts or of the cornflakes with as rich cream as the body will assimilate or take. Not too much of tuberous vegetables, but bulbs - as peas, beans, lentils and spinach, celery, salsify - these are all good, taken in moderation and keeping same balanced.
6. Doing these, we will find we will bring better physical conditions to the body in every respect, for conditions are on the improve for the hearing and for the eyes and for the system in general.

8. (Q) What will relieve the piles the body suffers with?
   (A) That as being applied [the Tim] will relieve in at least three to four applications, using each time when these show projections, or when stools are taken.

1. 9/13/27 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-33 advising continuation of Radium Pad and Radio-Active Appliance, for long standing deafness and eye trouble, also Usoline oil and high enemas for eliminations.
2. 1/30/28 She wrote: "Here I am again with a lot of things I'm wanting you to do for me. Won't you please give me a thorough going over to see if my batteries are all right, if there should be any changes and what and if there is any improvement in my condition? Is catarrh any better? [Hypertrophic rhinitis?]
   "The most important thing right now is, I am suffering so terribly with piles [hemorrhoids]. I do hope there is some way besides an operation. If there is, I know you will find it... I don't think I ever had anything more painful than these piles. They are so bad I've not been able to use the ice battery [Radio-Active Appliance] for several days. I use the enemas and Usoline but without much success. (I'm too nervous to write so you can read it.)"
3. 2/16/28 EC wrote: "I am sending you under separate cover an ointment [Tim] to use for the piles. I feel very sure that you will find this most effective. This is a prescription that has been given in rdgs. for such conditions and though there is a very small quantity of it, I am sure you will find it sufficient to give you relief, and we will send you more as soon as I can get some prepared.
   We are making the appointment for the rdg. for Mon., the 20th."

REPORTS

1. 2/22/28 She wrote: "Just rec'd the rdg. I felt real encouraged when I read it. I think there is enough ointment [Tim], as I am so much better. I was suffering so intensely when I wrote you. Wanted a rdg. anyway and also wanted to join your Ass'n [ANI].
   "It has only been a short time since I sent my Radio-Active Appliance to Mr. [195] for inspection but will send it again. I polish the plates each time before using them."
2. 3/03/28 "We have only had sunshine about one day in seven this winter. No wonder the Radium Appliance needs more charging."
3. 3/17/28 She wrote Dr. Thos. B. House: "I have just had a letter from Mr. Cayce asking me to describe my case to you as clearly as possible.
   Am 54 yrs. of age. Have been losing my hearing, gradually, for years, until I am now totally deaf in my left ear and almost so in my right. Have never had any pain in my ears - practically no head noises. One specialist says: THIN membrane; another THICK membrane; another the nerve; another catarrh and so on, which naturally leads to confusion.
   About two and one-half years ago I began having trouble with my eyes. At times the sharp pains were almost unbearable, and my sight became blurred. My sight is little, if any, better but my eyes now seldom pain and when they do it is not so severe.
   I don't digest my food. Food appears to stay in my stomach for days. Also waste matter in the colon. I pass quantities of mucous with stool. Am very short of breath and, of course, nervous.
   Since having the flu, several years ago, whenever I have a cold and cough it all appears to be in my stomach. Whenever I eat warm food or go out in cold air, water - perfectly clear - runs out of my nose, just like tears.
   For the past year I have had a splendid appetite... I do so want help and Mr. Cayce has been so patient and persevering."
4. 5/24/28 She obtained Ck. Physical 147-35 at which Dr. House was present.
