This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12th day of March, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [162], new Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes. There are many changes in the general physical forces of this body since last we had same here. Not all of these have been for betterments. There is still that lack of coordination in the radial reactions of that assimilated and that which is distributed for the replenishing of the vital energies necessary to keep the body from dis-ease through the pressures upon the nervous system. While those changes that have gradually come about in the eliminations have not as yet so set themselves to create the proper vibrations, we would find that if we were to add to the system these - in a consistent manner - we would bring the better conditions for the body:
2. Be mindful that the diet, first, is kept in the body and blood and nerve replenishing forces for the physical forces of the body. Do not use cereals at the same meal that citrus fruit juices are taken, but the whole wheat cereals should be at least taken three or four times each week, as well as the citrus fruit juices at the other periods. And the vegetables that are green and raw, and fruits and nuts, are much preferable to meats or any greases of any kind; for these tend to make - for in the activity of the blood supply - a humor that IRRITATES the nerve forces of the system.
3. We would use the Radio-Active Appliance as an equalizer of the circulation. When there are the severe pains in the head, those tendencies for the dizziness, we will find that these vibrations applied or kept on the body - even attached to the extremities - will bring quiet and rest for the body.
4. We would have a massage each day, using a compound prepared in this manner:
5. To 6 ounces of Olive Oil as the base, add (in these proportions):

   Oil of Cedar Wood..................1 ounce,
Oil of Wintergreen.................1 ounce,
Compound Tincture of Benzoin.....1/2 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras...................1 dram.

6. These will tend to separate. Preferably we would first massage the body off with hot water, or have a hot bath or hot sponge bath, especially along the spine, coming from the base of the brain toward the end of the spine (not allowing, of course, drafts to come on the body). After such a hot rub, then massage the oil compound, what the body will absorb. Shake this together each time before it is used, and use only what the body will absorb.
7. And keeping these in these directions, keeping constructive forces in the mental attitudes of the body, we will find relief.
8. Whether the Appliance is used for thirty minutes or for two hours does not matter; for it would be well to use it for thirty to forty minutes two or three times each day. But REST while this is being used. Do not allow the ice or the water from the ice (preferably put in ice, not water, see?) to come OVER those connections at the top.
9. Keeping these, we will bring better conditions for this body of [162].

BACKGROUND

1. 12/02/30 She obtained 162-1 which advised the main cause of her trouble was her liver and pelvic organs. She later wrote of extreme nervousness, dizziness, head pressure, specks and lines before her eyes, etc., which had been alluded to in the rdg.
2. 2/26/35 She requested a ck. rdg., "so that I may be comletely well." She apologized for not following through with a ck. rdg. a short time after following the 1st one, which was advised.
3. 3/08/35 She wrote: "I have delayed writing on account of an attack of pressure in my head which I feel is caused from various conditions within the body and my main complaint. At times my head feels as if it just tightens as if to burst. Just like a great pressure and at times with severe pain. These attacks come on at any time and sometimes lasting for over a week and then begin again within 2-3 days. It nearly drives me distracted. It requires an extreme effort to get around. Sometimes sleep relieves me for a short while.
   "Have such extreme bearing down sickening pains in abdominal region, being so severe at times that I can't move. Noticed these pains back as far as 1926 which were very light then but each year they seem to get worse and the past few months are more often and harder, lasting over a week at a time, but during that time at intervals they become lighter. The hot water bag applied mostly to the spine gives me the most relief, although I apply it to the abdomen and sides. Those pains seem to be in the intestines at times extending to the rectum and I can't move until the severeness has passed away. There is a very sore spot in the center of the spine just about even with hip bones.
   "As there are so many complications within the body, I will not submit questions at this time, for I know you will find the trouble and prescribe accordingly. On account of my financial difficulty trust that the treatment prescribed will be simple enough for me to apply without much added expense. 1. 4/07/35 She wrote: "Thank you for the prompt rdg. I know if I do my part and cooperate with you I will be on the way to recovery before I know it. In fact I have started now. Deferred writing, as I have continued with the head condition of which I wrote you... Started the diet right away, sent for the Radio-Active Appliance last week and will start the massage daily this week, so I know that I will be cured."
2. 5/08/35 She wrote: "Indeed I am feeling better and have gained 10 lbs., but have some more room for improvement, and weight. I am very pleased with the speedy improvement. Many thanks to your heavenly gift. Will keep in touch with you from time to time and let you know how I am progressing. M/O for $2 enclosed. Will try to send more on my acct. next time."
3. 6/23/35 She reported on friend's rdg. 786-2, saying: "Indeed, I have found my membership a great help during the past year, as I had almost given up hope of ever being well again, and for the first time in many months I feel assured of complete recovery, as there is no guess work about the suggestions in your rdgs., and I have made quite a progress toward recovery in many ways. There is no reason why I can't be perfectly well if I follow your suggestions properly.
   "I was very fortunate to find a doctor who understands your method and has studied along that line and he will carry out your suggestions. As you may already know there are many doctors who do not understand.
   "My condition has been so long standing that at times the reaction from the treatments made me feel pretty low but now I am beginning to feel better more often...
   "The Radio-Active Appliance was ordered and after waiting six weeks, on its arrival they had packed it in such a fragile box for the rough handling it received, it was so badly damaged the I turned it in to the P.O. The doctor said that he didn't want to wait for it any longer and I want to ask you if there is a place here that I can get something just as good. Whatever your suggestion is I will do."
4. 7/08/35 EC wrote her saying there was no other place she could obtain the Radio-Active appliance. [At that time it was being made at Dr. Harold J. Reilly's Sun Air Farm, Oak Ridge, N.J.]
5. 7/29/35 She wrote: "I am improving all the time and hope to be working soon; that is, in the next month or so. Of course I have some bad days but nothing like I had at first. Am very pleased with the results in such a short while."
6. 10/07/35 She wrote: "Think I will be ready for a ck. rdg. in about two weeks, but will let you know for sure."
7. 12/19/35 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 162-3.
