This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of September, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [165].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [165]. This we have had before. Also those associations and relations that have to do with the endeavors of this body as respecting the phases of the life and the association with others. Ready for questions.
2. (Q) [165] & [5616] Co. feel that they should increase sales volume by buying another similar but smaller institution. Where can we look for such an one?
   (A) Cincinnati, or in - yes, there's another in Chicago. The Sun in Cincinnati, or what is Finklestein - here - in Chicago. [See 165-16, Par. 8-A--10-A, on 10/05/29.]
3. (Q) We cannot locate Nebro, Penna., as a Post Office. What county is it in? [See 165-14, Par. 2-A--5-A.]
   (A) (In undertone) Manufacturing - There are the two men that have the place in the hill. NEBRO is the post office, here. No, we don't find it. No, we don't locate that here at present. We will find that. [See comment at end of Par. 22-A below.]
4. (Q) What sales leads are there to fill out surplus manufacturing facilities in the dull months, November, December and January?
   (A) Much might be accomplished through these periods in those suggestions as has been given, of how the various manufactories that use the products could assist or better their facilities by the various rooms needed for the finishing product, with this special product, see? Get the idea here?
5. (Q) No. ["Get the idea?" GC said No.]
   (A) There is needs be that in each factory where a finished product is used, or be handled, that the experimental or laboratory work of the developing plant - these would be developed IN each center. This would require time, to be sure, but would USE the better facilities for the product and INCREASE the amount that would be USED from this special factory, see?
   This, now, as understood - there are conditions that present themselves for and against such an idea. This is understood, for most factories will present that argument that - why should there be maintained a laboratory, when such should be done by the manufacturers and the product used under THEIR own facilities and conditions! but that is the necessary or the NEEDED educational factor for the factories, that the CONDITIONS can be created for the use of the product that will give the better results and created in their own surroundings and under their own circumstances. That is what is given, see?
6. (Q) How can Mr. Brown Katzenback of Chicago help specialty furniture picture?
   (A) In aiding in the designing, in the finishing, and in the getting together of that necessary for the specialty furniture program.
7. (Q) What will the market price on All-American Mohawk Radio Stock - Chicago Stock Exchange? for next 60 days?
   (A) These should be advanced - as to the price or quotations - these will vary, necessarily, with the conditions as would be presented in this being on the Exchange and the various conditions as are arising with such at this time. For the next sixty days, WE would say, the variations will be for the betterment - upward.
8. (Q) How far ahead is it advisable for [165] & [5616] Co. to buy future linseed oil at this time?
   (A) Two to three years.
9. (Q) What advantage would arise from a trip by Messrs. [257], [900], Edgar Cayce and [165], to Llano County, Texas?
   (A) It's Gillespie County, or through Llano and lower portion of Llano County - for its on the edge of these where these metals, ores or properties are that will make the combination of that as necessary for the filament in the reflection or in cloth for the health rooms. These may be developed by the following out of these leads as given. Be well for such. These should be followed through this line. The properties under consideration, and where these ores and necessary products for the production of these - are under LEASE, and the owner, or main owner of same, has departed this present experience - but still interested, and in these papers of this man may there be obtained the lease wherein the working product may be found, for these are a ninety-nine year lease. These leases were owned, and have NOT been assigned by Sanger - Alex Sanger, Dallas, Texas, see? The serpentine in this same district IS BEING used, or taken away, by the GERMAN government. Not legally - but it's being taken alright! for the pigments, as has been seen, show that these fields as being made here are out of the ordinary.
10. (Q) Should such a trip be made in November 1929?
    (A) Be very good. Very good period of the year for same. These conditions surrounding these lands will be of special interest to [165] in the manufacture of paints of a different character, for with the serpentine, with the chalks, with the talc, with all of these various fields - and they are all in commercial quantities, too!
11. (Q) Is the latest ash produced satisfactory?
    (A) Satisfactory in this individual case [409]. Be well.
12. (Q) In producing the ash, may the other elements in the air consist of a gas such as acetylene?
    (A) Not too much of it. More of the NATURAL gases of the air is better in the product. That of the hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen - these are better in the air than the gases as would come from acetylene. Too much sulphur added to this, in this manner.
13. (Q) Will Joseph Cowan succeed as a salesman for [165] & [5616] Co. in Boston?
    (A) We don't find Joseph here.
14. (Q) Lives in Revere, Mass.?
    (A) Now, we wouldn't like to give this - we don't find enough connected with him. These are very good - the impressions are very good. The impressions as made with [165] very good, but there are some other connections that don't appear just right. We will give him again.
15. (Q) In Health Room Equipment should we start developing commercially one of the following: -
    (A) (Interrupting) Make the health room circular - then your radiations from these will be an entirely different element, you see. Beginning with these, we would develop first those - you see, we have two characters particularly - those that come with the reflected ray, and those also that will aid - now we are speaking of the individual - aid in elements that have to do with the exterior portion, or the blood supply, and the nerve circulation, and those centers that have principally to do with the lymphatic and the HYPOGASTRICS in their broader sense. Then we have those that have to do with the structural portions of the body. As has been given, we would begin with ONE of these first. EITHER of these, and as these are developed then we may find that the others may be EASILY added to this.
16. (Q) Should we work on a combination hair growth lamp and complimentary hair producing medical compounds?
    (A) These are very good. Working from that as has been used as the Evans' patent will be very well, but these may be approached from a different angle with compounds that might be used with same.
17. (Q) Should we make contact with Dr. Herman Goodman of N.Y.?
    (A) Be very well.
18. (Q) Is [165]'s design of a knock-down transportable health room to be sold over the country one on which to work?
    (A) Very good, for - that is, when these are considered - Now we have two viewpoints to view these from - in the health room where we have that from the monetary viewpoint - Now there may be considered much means as may be gained from these, in the various fields in which these will find a ready sale. Then we have those which are to be considered by the more stable centers, or where the real EXPERIMENTS that may be found in this field. See? Then those that will knock down or may be transported, or the one to consider first for the MONETARY standpoint as well as the good as may be accomplished from same.
19. (Q) Can Louis Francis aid in the design of such health room?
    (A) I should say he SHOULD aid!
20. (Q) Suggestions are desired for flooding such rooms with artificial radiation?
    (A) These, as has been said, coming from the circular forces, or the circular room, and from the circular reflectors, will bring the better reflection, or the better radiation of the flooded light - for, as is seen in these various things, as one turns one with another in reflections, in the circular form, these bring all of the forms of radiation - also those of any of the radiation that comes from the various metallic substances as may be changed to produce a different radiation in same.
21. (Q) When will Albert J. DeVaud (pronounced DeVoe) become on the our health room staff?
    (A) This should be accomplished in February! That will be better month for him!
22. (Q) Is following a just division of Health Room Equipment, Inc., shares: [900] 150, [137] 150, [195] 100, [257] 100, [165] 150, [4995] 35, [3952] 25, Carlton 20, [5540] 20, [2467] 20, Cayce 25, [5616] 15, Cragg 5, Ass'n 100?
    (A) These are very good, and the determination of the divisions in same should be made in accord with those elements as have to do with the DEVELOPMENTS as they come. This is a good basis to begin with, and sound. 23. (Q) What advice to body in trying to get patients, such as [2597], to remain in hospital as long as readings say? [Work:EC:Cayce Hospital]
    (A) Then, the laws or regulations and rules as governing same should be made to become EFFECTIVE in each and every individual case. That is where conditions are such that the ones in charge would not dismiss the individual, then they go on their OWN responsibility - and are not LIABLE - or the institution not liable - for the acts of the individual.
24. (Q) What function for ultra violet ray outside of health shall we locate, such as aging wood or wine?
    (A) Aging wood or wine, or making clothing for the health, or changing sex in eggs or chickens, or changing the effect of vegetation in its growth where grown inside - or outward, as to that - Oh, many uses can be made for it - MANY outside of these! Begin with the experimentation with a cucumber, and it will be seen as to how these may be changed - or begin with the experiment of a chicken and see how these may be made - the fertile eggs may be changed, even unto the sex - as to the quantity of the light that is passed through. The same as may be seen in MANY of such conditions.
25. (Q) What number of [?] units will be necessary to get best medical results?
    (A) Forty-one.
26. (Q) Any further advice regarding rooms?
    (A) Much may be given. Let's commence something! and as these are developed, in the various forms and in the various ways, then we may add more. For the present we are through.

2. 10/07/29 Mr. [165] wrote: "Am looking forward to ten days with you and [900] and [257] late in November. The greatest good will not come from Texas deposits, but from our association together. Would it be out of order to ask [5540] to go along - that he might get better acquainted?"
3. 10/10/29 EC's letter: "Yes, I think it would be very nice - and I hope you will ask Mr. [5540] to go on that trip. As you say, the association for several days should be worth as much to our work and the Ass'n as possibly the finding of the new element would be. While the finding of the element may put us in a position to be of greater help to a great number of people, the proper understanding of our associations one with another will enable us to better apply that we already have in hand, as well as that we may gain from other sources."
4. 10/12/29 Dr. Thomas B. House died. GD's note later: I have no record of above mentioned trip being taken. So many problems developed in re Cayce Hospital, beginning of Atlantic University, etc., - etc., that there was no time for a let-up. Perhaps the outcome would have been different if such a trip had been taken.
5. 11/21/29 Mr. [165] wrote: "I am enclosing ck. for $100 payable to the Cayce Hospital, donated by my very good friend, Mr. Geo. L. Cragg of the ... Bldg., ..., Ill."
