(Q) How may the body best overcome the morbid feelings after
these spells? [Epileptic seizures]
(A) By removing the pressure and that that produces the
pressure to the brain's reaction itself, as has been given.
With the applying of those impulses to the activity of the
gray forces in the nerve tissue itself; that is, as the
condition as has been given. Impulse in brain forces, or
its reaction, are of two natures - the white and gray matter,
as is ordinarily called. One an impulse, the other the
active force that carries on same. In the body, when the
impulses come from the pressure as has been created in the
forces seen to the brain itself, we have that of the activity
without the impulse to carry same forward. Hence we have
what is commonly known or called melancholia, or depression,
or the inability to carry out the impulses of the body.
The application of the Gold itself in the system is to act
with the functioning of the glands to create, by removing
the pressure over the body, that necessary to overcome the
condition. IMPULSE, see?
Do as we have given. We will overcome the condition. It
will require, of course - to be sure - those activities of
the body itself, to KEEP self in that position that the mind
itself will build. Not merely a mind action, but a PHYSICAL
condition IN the body PRODUCING the effect of a psychological
force in the system, [
241]. Do that, as we have given. We
are through for the present.

BACKGROUND
5/27/29 Husband [
239]'s letter: "Enclosed is a note of
introduction to you from Dr. Harvey A. Moore [M.D.] of N.Y.C.
requesting you to use your wonderful powers to aid my wife,
Mrs. [
241], in regaining her health. If it is possible for
you to appoint some day next week I will bring her to you for
an interview."
5/25/29 Dr. H. A. Moore's letter: "This will introduce to
you Mr. [
239] of N.Y. who is bringing his wife, Mrs. [
241],
to you for a rdg. and advice. Please do all in your power to
bring about a recovery of Mrs. [
241] and you will have the
blessings of her and all of her family and friends."
REPORTS
6/07/29 GD's note: Immediately following the rdg. Mr. [
239]
and Mrs. [
241] talked to us enthusiastically about the rdg.,
saying that it was wonderful and that she wanted to get
started on the treatment as soon as possible. She said that
her condition first became apparent about twenty-five years
ago. Previous treatment has included operations and
osteopathy. Her trouble is periods of melancholia, and
epileptic seizures.
7/01/29 She became a patient in the Cayce Hospital to be
treated according to the reading. She stayed until
7/29/29.
The osteopathic treatments were given by Dr. Vincent H. Ober.
A Radio-Active Appliance with gold was used.
7/22/29 Her husband obtained Business Rdg.
239-1, Par. 24-A
re her happiness.
8/03/29 Husband wrote: "Mrs. [
241] is feeling fine and
getting 'fat'. (Don't tell her I said so.) We have a
delightful place for her to rest and feel with care she will
soon be on her way to better days.
"You advised us when we first visited you to get one of those
Radio-Active Appliances with gold from Mr. Thos. B. Brown,
and I would appreciate it if you tell me how to get one. We
are arranging to carry out the rdg. as closely as possible
and will call on you from time to time and report progress.
Mrs. [
241] will never be able to tell how grateful she feels
to all of you for the many kindnesses extended her and wants
to come forth as a living example of your power."
8/27/29 Husband wrote that they had not yet rec'd the
Appliance.
8/31/29 EC wrote that Gray Salter was now making the
Appliances at the Cayce Hospital; one could be ordered direct
for $12.50.
GD's note: He may have ordered the Appliance, but there is
no record of it in A.R.E. files.
4/24/43 Dr. H. A. Moore's letter to EC:
"Recently I had the pleasure of reading your autobiography.
It was very gratifying to have the opportunity of reading
this most unusual autobiography [biography], and I am glad
it has been my privilege to have met you and to have had the
experience and benefit of two of your readings [
239-1 and
943-9?].
"You may not recall this, but Mr. [
943] of Miami, Florida
and I visited you at Va. Beach about fourteen years ago. I
had formerly practiced surgery for many years and referred a
very difficult medical case to you, and she [
241], and her
husband, [
239], were present at your rdg. Your rdg.
confirmed my diagnosis of the case, which was contrary to the
diagnoses made by several prominent psychiatrists and
neurologists. When you made your rdg. and gave the symptoms
and the treatment it was astounding to me, and particularly
your mentioning the cause of the symptoms, which I had stated
was due to a traumatism to the coccyx, which your rdg.
confirmed. The treatment you outlined was also unexpected,
as I advised the same treatment."
7/60 In Dr. W. N. Pahnke's survey of 96 cases of epilepsy, he
classified Case 241-1 in Group 3, saying:
"Diagnosis seemed to be melancholia or depressions, and not
epilepsy. 'Spells' were mentioned, but there was no
description of any type of convulsions."
