To prevent temperature, which there is some at present, in
this body, Miss [
243], we are speaking of, we would these
compound for the system so as to give correct incentive to
the functioning of the secreted and excreted forces, and a
stimulant throughout the viscera and to the pancrean forces
diminishing the acid and producing more of a lactic state
within the body itself and take this into the system:
Podophylin.................10 grains,
Leptandrin..................5 grains,
Sanguinaria.................5 grains,
Dovers Powders..............3 grains.
Mix well to-gether and put in 3 grain capsules. The dose
will be one of these each evening.
For the nerve forces and to assist in allaying temperature
and the feverish condition, as some of the properties as
given, the laxative that has been given before, you see,
take this:
Tincture of Valerian........4 ounces,
Bromide of Potash.........1/2 ounce,
Elixir of Calisaya..........3 ounces,
Simple Syrup sufficient to make 8 ounces.
Dose: Teaspoonful every four hours. Shake well before
taking.
The body should have rest and open air, especially while
taking these medicinal properties, then after some two or
three days, after the medicinal properties have been taken,
we would relax by osteopathic forces those conditions as
found along the lower cervical and all the dorsal region.
This portion of the body with the cervical should be treated
so as to relax the condition. The lumbar, so manipulated as
to produce more tautness about the pelvic organs.
Do this and we will find it will give the normal condition
back to the body here, Miss [
243].
