This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of December, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [257].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you [257], present in this room, and [903] at ... Ave., ..., Oklahoma, and their relations, mental, physical and financial. You will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding these.
2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and the relations one with the other. These we have had in the manner and form here before. These have changed somewhat since last we had it, yet, as has been seen and given, would do well were each to come to that conclusion and determination, or the set of the will's forces for the preparation of those relations with each in the physical plane to bring about the better conditions as would be in the lives of each. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Are these two people suitably mated - mentally and physically? Advise them to as to proper living.
   (A) The conditions in the lives of each are such as these may be made amiable, applicable, amenable, and in the manners that bring better conditions for body, as has been given. First the elements should be set within the mind, hearts, of each, as to the abilities of each to give and take, or make self in that relation, one to another, as would bring about the most compatible conditions.
4. (Q) Is the physical condition of [903] perfect?
   (A) Rarely do we find one perfect. Very good, and capable of meeting the needs of such relations as may be attained between each.
5. (Q) What will be the result of this union?
   (A) What they make it!
6. (Q) Will [257] be able to attain the success he desires as well married or unmarried?
   (A) In many ways he will be better able to attain. In other ways he will find that there will be grinding at times, as it were, but, as the whole, better.
7. (Q) How will marriage benefit [257]?
   (A) He will assume more obligations, and will assume more responsibilities. He hasn't had any yet, until he marries!
8. (Q) Will this couple be able to produce strong healthy issue with their present physical conditions?
   (A) By the time that arrives, yes.
9. (Q) Is this girl the type and quality of womanhood best suited to this man for a successful life?
   (A) May be made so in each. No one is suited exactly in the beginning, unless it has been fore-ordained through the ages of the mating of each.
10. (Q) When should they marry?
    (A) When it is most compatible to both.
11. (Q) Will they be perfectly happy always, and of what should they be advised?
    (A) Of that relation as is necessary between each to make relations one with another in such positions as compatible. No, they will not always be happy, but these may be always made content. Contentment and happiness are different elements, but both are of the mind - yet physical conditions must exist between each that these may be made compatible, or that the mind may be brought to that position wherein each may be content.
12. (Q) Will [257] be perfectly satisfied always with the choice of this girl?
    (A) When he has correctly chosen, yes.
13. (Q) Is this the right girl he should choose?
    (A) Certainly.
14. (Q) What will his business future be after marriage?
    (A) What he makes it - for, as has been given, these will bring much more responsibilities - these will bring other conditions and relations in the life. Applying same in the same way and manner as has been given the entity as to how to apply self as respecting to business, these will bring better conditions - for, as the entity will realize within the first six to eight months of such relations, the business world views the relations of an entity as respecting such conditions in much a different aspect [from that] of one alone. No matter what may be the responsibilities outside - and, as has been given, there are many conditions that will be unsatisfactory for the time being, yet, as will be found, these will all prove good to those who would serve the Lord.
15. (Q) Is marriage an aid or a detriment to the man?
    (A) Ever an advantage, ever a help - for, as has been given by the Creative Forces from the beginning, such is the state as was prepared from that time when the helpmate was given to man. Make such relations as that, and not as stepping stones, nor as an embrasure of any principles that would lead to other than that union of bodies and minds to better serve God and man.
16. (Q) What will his future be with the present firm with whom he is associated, Federal Furniture Factories - the officers Ben Lauterstein and Irving Isaacs, at present Carolina Wood Products Factory, Asheville, N.C.?
    (A) These may be assisted even by such relations, for ever those who have assumed such obligations look on such conditions as rather stabilizing the efforts of any individual. From this view we are looking at it.
17. (Q) What salary should the body ask for his services, and what other consideration should he ask?
    (A) That commensurate with the elements as are being, and as will be rendered, according to the efforts of the individual, or entity. As to the amount, this, as has been given, has been considered and may be considered again by these. Make same, then, in keeping with that as has been presented.
18. (Q) Will 1927 be a successful year of the body, [257]?
    (A) Be called rather middling - for seven - nine - eighteen - twenty - half the year would be very good, half the year will be very unsatisfactory. Which half? The first half better than the middle and first portions of the last half.
19. (Q) Should he travel, and if so where?
    (A) Better as has been outlined. There are times when he should and times when he shouldn't.
20. (Q) What should his plans be for the coming market?
    (A) Those as have been outlined and laid out by the entity itself. There are several individuals to meet, there are several individuals with propositions - contracts that are to be made. Close these up, and as these are made, and each one is put in its place, there will be presented others. Follow out that as has been set for itself - for, as seen, the relations with many individuals, and with many whom the entity has attempted - from these relations conditions have been very good, and will be increased, and the efforts of the entity are receiving their just rewards - for, as is seen, as these increase, and as these are brought about, these will be helpful.

Now, Judge, I'm really in for it. I've always wondered whether I should have waited to see what Baltimore was always mentioned for [in the rdgs.], or if I should have made the beginning step now or waited later. Will you kindly review the rdgs. on this and see what you think. I've followed the last one in its entirety."
3. 1/13/27 EC's reply: "No, I don't think that you need to worry about the Baltimore - you know she [903] wasn't far from there when this was first given."
4. 1/17/27 He referred a business associate, Mr. [3863], for a Physical Rdg.
5. 3/29/27 He obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 257-16 for severe cold, sinusitis.
6. 4/18/27 He and Miss [903] got married.
7. 5/15/27 They obtained 903-3, a joint rdg. in re their marriage, and his business.
8. 9/09/27 He wrote: "[903] is heart and soul with you. We've both been extremely happy, and now she is your real champion, and people listen, too. She has several important people lined up for your visit." [See subsequent Business Rdgs.]
