(Q) Please advise as to [sister-in-law [
2126]'s] work in
the office. How can she improve it, and what is condition
as now existing?
(A) This is gradually straightening itself out. There have
been some questions as to who, where, what and when the
various activities of the body should be followed out. As
we have outlined from the beginning, these should be set
that there is so much expected of each in the various
activities of aiding others in carrying out their activities,
and these will be much more satisfactory. BUDGET the time,
not overlapping so much. Not waiting or depending on one or
the other, but each - from [
257] on down (and this means
[
257] as much as the rest of them) - keep in that order
wherein so much time is given to so much activity, and carry
it out! [GD's note: I think there was friction between his
sec'ty Miss [
349] and his sister-in-law Miss [
2126]].
(Q) Which department store in N.Y. best to sell, to use the
most boxes?
(A) Why give one individual more than the other? We would
follow along with all of these that have been, where
negotiations have been opened. These will make for the
better channels.
(Q) Reference Paris Medicine, I arranged 60/40 first
$250,000, and 50/50 above, with all expenses paid by lawyers,
and protection to Seely on Estate losses. Is there anything
else to aid?
(A) This should be satisfactory to all.
(Q) Should I arrange to have Seely meet Hirschmann, so Lord
& Taylor will handle homespun cloth?
(A) Be very good association and connection.
(Q) When should Seely come to N.Y.?
(A) When it is the most convenient season for both
concerned.
(Q) Advise Seely what he should say to members of Paris
Medicine Co. in justification for my insistence to get paid?
(A) This should be left to the body itself, from the
attitude he has assumed and taken; rather than being
insistent from anyone else. He knows better how to act and
carry on for himself.
(Q) How will Seely be able to aid me in this suit against
Grove and his estate?
(A) Considering all the conditions and circumstances that
have existed between those officers of the company and Seely,
how else will it be other than in a passive way, or in the
sub-active way, as regarding the activities that are to
come about?
(Q) How long will it take Oestreicher to get a decision or
settlement?
(A) That depends a great deal upon the attitudes assumed by
those to whom is being given the disorder or disruption.
These have been gone over sufficient for it to be seen just
what may be the attitudes. Depends upon what the mind of an
individual or a group will do, and who knows!
(Q) Considering St. Louis attitude, what may be expected
from Grove and the bank in settling the matter?
(A) Most anything!
(Q) Any other advice?
(A) That which has been given, both as to associations in
the various connections and activities of individuals
concerned with the organization and its activities. Follow
the policy of SERVICE in its whole entirety, and the
activities will be the better and the more satisfactory.
We are through for the present.
