(Q) Would [
257] be better off with G.E. a holder of his
common stock, or just ask for the money on a loan basis?
(A) As indicated, the assurance from - it has just been
outlined - the payment, the distribution of that produced.
These assurances are worth more than the capital.
Because we find this: With the considerations - Not that
[
257] is not efficient, not that those activities of the
various influences or forces or phases of the purchasing,
the distribution, the finish, all of the activities of the
General Electric would not be proper - but [
257] may gain
a great deal from those very counsels that will be had as
respecting the purchases - the assurance of the purchases,
as respecting the means in which these would be handled.
For this is a growing proposition, and if it is begun
properly as we find in these directions it will make for
a continuous association. While if considered from a direct
loan, or those considered from other ways or means or
manners, it does not make for the ability to have the
assurance from the various departments as associated with
same - it might be very soon, well "We don't need [
257]."
The other way, they can't!
(Q) Compare manufacturing ability of Chichester district
with Rockford, Ill. district, the present source of supply.
(A) These as we find - there are many phases, of course,
in which one may be considered as advantageous to others,
but there are about three to five advantages to be had in
the Chichester proposition once it is set in shape for the
activities - from many phases of same.
(Q) Should [
257] have another meeting with Dr. Baker
at Bridgeport, or was the last meeting at Schenectady
satisfactory enough to proceed with Chas. Wilson?
(A) Proceed to Charles Wilson.
(Q) Shall I phone Wilson or phone Erlicher?
(A) Phone Erlicher.
(Q) What will be necessary for [
257] to show to Mr. McKinnon
the Comptroller at Schenectady to get his full approval?
(A) All of this has been passed by others along the chain,
but these will be connected or given as to what the definite
conditions are to be met, in the next meeting with Wilson
and Erlicher.
(Q) Is there anything to be done with Erlicher, to get his
full accord and recommendation?
(A) Not as an individual.
(Q) Is tomorrow a good day to see Erlicher and Wilson?
(A) Good day to open it!
(Q) What shall [
257] say to Wilson?
(A) This depends upon what the requirements or needs are.
If there is to be accepted that proposition, as has just been
advised to be the better, that as is to be said will be said
by Wilson! without [
257]'s asking - only his acceptance!
(Q) Should [
257] take Louis Francis or anyone to any meeting
with Wilson?
(A) Not until asked for. It might be well later. That time
will arise, to be sure.
(Q) Would [
257] be better of using plant at Chichester or
going to Paterson in the big dye and silk plant that is
located there, and that is now accessible to [
257]?
(A) Stay away from Paterson!
(Q) Is there any obstruction at present in [
257]'s path to
get Wilson to join him?
(A) We do not find it so. There is only the whole
consideration and the whole activity being reviewed at
present.
Keep on in the way. Keep on making for the removal of
whatever disturbances come, and we will find it will work
out.
We are through for the present.
