This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of June, 1928, in accordance with request made by her mother, Mrs. [2457].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce and Dr. Thos. B. House.

Time and Place: 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Alabama.

TEXT

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before. Now, there are quite different conditions exhibited in the physical and mental forces of the body at present from that as we have had here before. The conditions are much bettered in the general way and manner, and there needs be only care and attention given, being mindful of those conditions as of which the body has been warned.
  2. We would give the vibrations for those changes as will be coming for the body soon, and we will find this while producing in some respects an irritation - will (were the eliminations kept proper) be that as would set the correct vibrations, bringing about the better mental and physical balance for the system.
  3. These, then, we would use as a tonic, in these proportions, at the present time:
  4. To four (4) ounces of lactated Pepsin, add:

      Elixir Calisaya........................1/2 ounce,
      Tincture Valerian......................1/4 ounce,
      10% solution Iodide of Potassium.......1/2 ounce,
      10% solution Bromide of Potassium.......40 minims,
      Tincture Capsici................1 1/2 or 2 minims,
      Balsam of Tolu...........................1 dram,
      cut in 1 ounce of grain alcohol.

  5. The dose would be teaspoonful three times each day. May be taken plain or with water; taken AFTER the meal, just as soon as eaten, see? and eat the meal!
  6. Stay in the open as much as is possible.
  7. Do not tax the body either in too much study or in too much of any way that will bring too great a strain or flow of blood to head proper, until at least those natural conditions for eliminations of the developing body are exhibited in the system.
  8. The rash that occurs in and from the taxation of improper vibratory forces in the eliminations will be taxed by the properties given as medicinal properties, unless eliminations are kept high in the system. Use that of the mild purgative or laxative for the system if necessary. Plenty of outdoor exercise, and the diet followed in the line as has been given, would make this unnecessary - but this must be looked after, see? that we may keep the normal conditions for this body.

  11. (Q) Will the body be able to enter school in the Fall?
    (A) Were the conditions in the eliminations of the body set properly, and these begun [the menses] in a normal way and manner, yes. If not, do not overtax the mental and physical with these conditions. These eliminations should be begun by then, were these properties as given administered in the way and manner given, and those exercises taken and the forces given for the vibrations of the system kept as has been outlined.

BACKGROUND

  1. 3/27/28 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 259-4 advising continued treatment for early puberty, too fast development of glands, etc.
  2. 6/19/28 Mother [2457] submitted questions, including: "About how long before her menstruation begins? Is temper the cause of the nettlerash [urticara] condition, as the condition is very present when she loses her temper, or why? How are the teeth and eyes? Would camp life for ten days or so at Grandview, near Montgomery, Ala., be too strenuous?"

REPORTS

  1. 7/03/28 Mother [2457]'s letter: "The rdg. reached me Thursday. Don't know exactly what is meant by the vibrations for those changes, etc. I get the rest. Electrical vibrations or massage? I've been giving massage, manipulations, you know.
    "She says the tonic sends shocks to her breasts and sides. In treating her, both sides are very tender, and her neck. I get her neck in good condition by treating daily [as Dr. Elise L. Stone taught me], and then she stays off a week and has to go over the same soreness.
    "You can see from the kodak picture how she has grown. Has a splendid appetite and enjoys what she eats."
  2. 7/09/28 EC's letter: "I understood that the vibrations meant the medicinal properties were to be prepared as well as the massaging. There's no mention of electrical vibration... I don't think electrical vibrations would be just the thing in this case. I am in hopes the tonic works out alright. It would seem to indicate that it would, from what you say. That is more the vibration meant."
  3. 7/12/28 Mother wrote: "[259] is doing fine, is very much better natured and helps a good bit about the house and kitchen."
  4. 7/26/28 Mother wrote she was having the tonic prescription refilled for [259], as recommended in 259-5.
  5. 8/06/28 Mother wrote: "[259] feels very much better. Better humor, but doesn't care about turning her hand to help in one way or another."
  6. 9/10/28 Mother's letter: "[259] can hardly wait for next Monday to come to start back to school."
  7. 9/16/28 Mother's letter: "[259] made 100 in her math test last week. Only four in the class and she was one of them. Is so glad to be back to school."
  8. 3/01/29 Mother wrote: "Septic throat seems to be the latest ailment. [259] was sent home Monday. Gland trouble mostly."
  9. 3/10/29 Mother wrote: "[259]'s large neck was caused from a twelve yr. molar. She is late in cutting teeth but it is just as well."
  10. 8/15/29 Mother wrote: "[259]'s menses started Aug. 5th. No trouble. A headache was all the trouble she had, so I understand. Am glad she is o.k. that way."
  11. 11/12/29 Mother wrote: "We rec'd this note from the school: 'Dear Parent: Allow us to congratulate you on the fact that our physical examination shows that [259] is free from remedial defects and is on our Health Honor Roll.'"
  12. 1/25/30 Mother wrote: "[259]'s Latin teacher is putting her in the next class, she was so far ahead of her class."
  13. 1/29/30 EC wrote: "Don't let [259] overdo herself, that's all."
  14. 6/03/30 We heard that [259] had graduated from Jr. High, making 90's and 100's in six subjects.
  15. 7/01/31 Mother [2457]'s letter: "[259] has been and is going to the doctor with an infected wart on her right arm. She only has four more, two on the same arm and two on her right thigh."
  16. 9/17/31 She obtained Ck. Physical 259-6 for appendicitis.
