questions to you:"
1. About 2 years ago, a physician advised me to have an
operation. He said the cervix uteri was hardened - scar
tissue should be cut away and that there was danger from
cancer during the menopause if this was not done. I am now
43 and am wondering if I should have this done.
2. I have a bad sacro-iliac which my osteopath puts back in
place for me. Sometimes there is pressure on the sciatic
nerve. Also I sometimes have pain the bones below this
point, but the osteopath has assured me several times that
there is nothing out of place there. Do you agree?
3. I have been riding horseback lately, hoping this would
strengthen my back. In fact, would like to spend this winter
on a ranch where I would ride everyday. Do you think this
advisable?
4. For 16 years I have had a rectal itch which seems to be
caused by constipation or sometimes "nerves". (This same
physician said the lower end of the colon was paralysed and
that I would always have to use a low enema.) My osteopath
doesn't like for me to use so many enemas (one or two a day)
and has advised me to take MetaMucil-2 (I haven't started
yet). Carbolated vaseline seems to stop the itching better
than anything but I'm afraid to use it too often as coal tar
products are said to produce cancer. Also have used
Amoniated Mercury Ointment 5% but don't like to use this too
often either. I have had pains in the lower abdomen. Is it
caused by gas? Gas sometimes causes the itching. (My
appendix was removed 12 years ago.)
5. Also have sinus trouble. A friend of mine said 5 grain
Potassium Chloride tablets had relieved her. What do you
think about them - or what would you advise? I thought the
dry climate of the Southwest would also be good for my sinus
trouble. My younger son also suffers from it.
