This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of October, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [263], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [263], Mildred and Patricia White, Myra and Evelyn O'Dell.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
3. As we find, there are many changes in this body, physically and mentally, since last we had same here. Some are for the betterment. Others are at that position where the conditions taken advantage of may bring better reactions in every way.
4. Those stresses which continue to give disturbance, - as the headaches that are a part of the experience in the present, - are from a lack of that vital energy needed, because of the lack of iron, silicon, and the Vitamins B-1, as well as a lack of calcium in the system.
5. Hence in the present we would take the electrically DRIVEN vibrator each evening, especially across the lumbar and sacral area, 9th dorsal, and at the base of the brain, down between the shoulders. But make this application just reverse to that order indicated here; that is, first the area from the base of the brain downward, between the shoulders, on either side of the cerebro-spinal system; then circulating, and crosswise at the 9th dorsal area, see? then at the 4th lumbar, and across the whole of the sacral area.
6. We would take beef juice as medicine. Take it at least five times each day, but NOT at meal time. Take about half a teaspoonful at a dose, but take at least two to three minutes to sip that amount, see?
7. This, with the CALCIOS taken twice each week, should be sufficient.
8. Keep the diet in that way and manner that there are good eliminations. These we would keep with fruits and vegetables, in preference to taking cathartics or laxatives; as prunes, prune whip, figs stewed and in preserves, raisins stewed and raw; pears, apples (apples roasted or baked, however, rather than raw). These with the general diet should aid better eliminations.
9. If there are STILL disturbances, than use high enemas.
10. Once each week we would have an electrical treatment from the Violet Ray, using the bulb applicator. This should be applied over the front as well as along the spine; that is, across shoulders, across the stomach, across the lower area of the ribs, across the abdomen, down the limbs when given on the spine. Take about two and a half to three minutes in giving the treatment; and come DOWN with the treatment, not pushing the bulb so much upward, see - but let it remain on body when given. Don't give it full strength for the first two or three times. Once a week should be sufficient.
11. Do these consistently; and be very mindful to not find fault with others.
12. At least once a day eat a piece, or two pieces, of celery - raw; not with dressing - a little salt if so desired. Do this EVERY day for at least six weeks; and be prayerful also.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Please give cause and relief for pains in lower left side of back and left leg.
    (A) These are from the strain as we have indicated, which is to be removed by the vibrations of the electrically driven vibrator given daily, see?
15. (Q) Please give cause and relief for cold and cough.
    (A) This is from acidity in the system, and lack of proper eliminations. The diet, as combined with the electrical treatments, should eliminate the CAUSES of the disturbance and thus correct same. These in combination, you see; for all of these as outlined have their part or place in CORRECTING the conditions; not as curatives, but as correctives, so that the body may build to the better resistance.
    The general disturbance is the strain upon the system from the lack of vital energies. And any little stimulant taken only adds to more dross to be removed. Thus the body- building foods, as well as the eliminations aided, will add the vital strength needed.
16. (Q) What should I do to bring kidneys to a more normal condition?
    (A) Eat those properties as we have indicated for same, see?
17. (Q) Should the thyroid tablets be continued?
    (A) While the CALCIOS is being taken, leave off the thyroid tablets - as they are causing a strain upon the heart and liver circulation.
18. (Q) Would it be well for me to take a tonic?
    (A) We have given a good one!
    Keep the attitude constructive; and keep in line with the suggestions given.

1. 6/13/40 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 263-11 for severe headaches, which her osteopath thought were now a result of B.C. tablet poisoning.
2. 10/26/40 She was present, submitting questions, including: "Please give cause and relief for continuous headaches and nausea. What will be a good laxative for me?"

REPORTS

1. 12/16/40 She obtained Mental-Spiritual Rdg. 263-13, answering also a few questions about health; such as cause of loss of weight, treatment for teeth and gums.
2. 12/16/40 HLC's letter to [263]'s brother [361] in the Army: "[263] had a rdg. She has not been feeling well lately. Nervousness, mostly. Probably a gland condition. I do not know what the reading indicated, but evidently was not too serious, or I would have heard about it."
3. 3/25/41 She obtained Ck. Physical 263-14 for strep throat.
4. 9/18/41 She obtained Ck. Life Rdg. 263-15.
5. 10/30/41 She obtained Ck. Physical 263-16, again for periodic headaches.
