This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 1st day of August, 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [264], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [264] - this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, while conditions are developing toward the elimination of the disorders that have disturbed the body, these are hindered by the attitudes that develop from time to time, as has been outlined. There are periods when the conditions are very much improved, then we find these fill again when the distraughtness or the worry takes possession, and there is the lack of that necessary faith, confidence and hope, to prevent this reaction again in the system.
3. In meeting the needs in the present conditions then as we find:
4. We would keep the percussions, and those treatments that are as the magnetic forces that pass through the growth itself. We would work more with those centers that are the radial forces of impulse in the cerebro-spinal centers, at the period of such treatments.
5. We would use also the Radio-Active Appliance in the same manner, making those connections with same from the 4th lumbar plexus and over the area of the swelling itself.
6. We would also have the diet that is as much blood and nerve building as possible.
7. We would take a nominal amount of exercise, that does not distract from that being attempted in the mental and spiritual forces of the body; that is, do not allow associations, conversations or activities, to deter self from the purpose that is eminent and foremost in the being of self, else - as has been given - if this is not able to be held - it would be better for the operative forces; but this may be eliminated, if the body will hold those activities that are created by the system that will bring more and more that consciousness of a perfect, normal, health, well body. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) On what vertebra should left hand be placed for the magnetic treatment?
   (A) On the 4th to the 2nd lumbar.
9. (Q) Which pole of the battery should be placed on the growth?
   (A) Attach the battery first to the growth, and then to the lumbar at the 4th plexus.
10. (Q) Which plate on growth, positive or negative?
    (A) As you will find, the first one that is attached is the positive. Whichever one is attached first becomes the positive; for with the Radio-Active Appliance this is only active when attached to a body.
11. (Q) What caused the body to fail to eliminate the growth from three to five weeks as stated in reading?
    (A) The negative reaction by the conditions as surrounded the body, that prevented the elimination keeping up.
12. (Q) What can this body do, or what treatments will cause this growth to be completely eliminated within a reasonable length of time?
    (A) Follow these suggestions that we have given. If these are unable to be followed, then remove by operation.
13. (Q) Should this body be operated on? If so, where and by whom?
    (A) This must be determined in the mind of the body itself, as to whether this may be accomplished or not without operation. If this is then determined in self that it can't be, or will not be, then the operation. This, as we find, would be preferably where institutions make a specialty of such conditions. This, as we find, may be accomplished either in Richmond or Rocky Mount.
14. (Q) Could Dr. McGuire of Richmond?
    (A) Be very good.
15. (Q) Is body in condition to undergo such at this time?
    (A) Should be built up in the number of the red blood corpuscles, as well as the urea or coagulative forces of system. This may be best done as we have given, by those activities we have given for the body - but if it is unable to do these, then the operative forces.
16. (Q) Which would you advise the body to do?
    (A) This must be decided within the body itself.
17. (Q) Could a metaphysician heal this body?
    (A) If the metaphysician may acclaim or subjugate the consciousness of the body. The best metaphysician is the REAL metaphysician, the Christ!
18. (Q) Could Mr. James E. Dodds of Hollywood, Calif., help this body?
    (A) If present, yes.
19. (Q) Is there a metaphysician in Washington, D.C., that could help?
    (A) There has been some - we don't find any at present.
20. (Q) Should this body rest more, or have more diversion, such as riding in car once each day?
    (A) This has been given. Better that there be the diversion, that there may be kept more strength and vitality active in the system; but not such that there is the worriment or the negative reaction in the system.
21. (Q) From whom can this body borrow $1500 on house and lot in ..., N.C., to finance her present needs?
    (A) As we find, there are some that would consider such, dependent upon what particular use this would be put. As might be outlined for or by them. This, as we find, would then include some that are in the same county, that deal in real estate, who have already had some transaction as related to these properties, that are interested in some of these properties.
22. (Q) Will you give the name of this person to whom she could go?
    (A) Those who have already been asked, or who have been sought as respecting same.
23. (Q) What can she do to keep from worrying?
    (A) Fill the conscious mind more and more with that which is expressed by Him. Consider the lilies of the field. Consider the birds of the air. They toil not, they spin not, yet the father careth for these. Art thou not much more valuable in His sight than these?
24. (Q) What causes the body to have a depressed reaction to unpleasant conditions, and - ...?
    (A) Those falterings, or fearfulnesses, by the reactions from those who hinder the body in holding to that which is determined in self.
25. (Q) Is there any other advice which would aid this body to perfect health, and is there any other treatment Dr. Brenner could give this body which he isn't doing?
    (A) We would keep that which has been outlined. Keep the ash in the system when the lights are given. The only change in the treatments that are administered externally, would be more movement of the hand on the vertebra, see? More of an attitude and aptitude toward that being accomplished. If this body in treating is not able to see or feel that being accomplished, then there's little hope in carrying forward - as also in the body being treated.
    Keep the mind and body more and more in accord with that, that the Father is HOLDING that which is necessary for the better and more COMPLETE development, for the better abilities of the body to manifest Him in its material plane. Knowing there is NOTHING that may separate self from that love, that health, that strength, that understanding, BUT SELF! Be patient, be persistent, be in the attitude of receiving that as HE sees fit. In the extremity He IS thine aid.
