This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of June, 1937, in accordance with request made by the husband over phone, Mr. [853], Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Alexander F. Jenkins of Baltimore, Md.

Time: 11:15 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C.
(Physical Suggestion)

TEXT

  1. EC: Yes - these are rather serious.
  2. There needs to be - for the quieting - the use, under the direction of a physician, naturally, of Adrenalin in extremities - or the stimulants for the heart's activity.
  3. Also we would gently massage the extremities, and use the Radio-Active Appliance for equalization.
  4. These are the better as we find, under the emergency conditions.
  5. (Q) What stimulant for the heart other than Adrenalin?
    (A) That which throws the blood away from, rather than contracting.
  6. (Q) Any other advice at this time?
    (A) These for the present.
  7. We are through for the present.

    [GD's note: When I phoned the rdg., Mrs. [678] said two hours back they thought she was going to pass out entirely, but she was much easier now - could hear her voice talking in the room - said, "Tell Mr. Cayce I'll be at the Congress next week!"]

BACKGROUND

  1. Previous Physical Rdgs. had been given for uterine tumor which at first had been inoperable due to a heart condition and to anemia, but now she is determined to eliminate the tumor without surgery.
  2. 10/27/36 She obtained Ck. Physical 264-51 advising tr. especially for laryngitis.

REPORTS

  1. 7/02/37 She wrote: "Thank you for the rdg. I am better. Got up a few minutes once before. First time I've been in bed since getting the readings. Am still quite light-headed. Had a doctor twice, but couldn't persuade him to give me digitol. He gave me something else. He told sister [678] I was too weak to take digitol. It worried me, but I knew I had to have something, so I took it. I could just see your father - He often said, 'There is no substitute when the reading says give so and so.'
    "Finally got my battery from Mrs. [1195] but am not sure that the anodes are right, or if I should take it on growth and 4th vertebrae in lumbar area, or on alternate ankles and wrists. Have had both. Which is right?...
    "The massages away from the heart have helped so much. Am taking Ventriculin again. The sunshine at Va. Beach will do me good. [853] is doing all he can to take me to the Beach as soon as I can go."
  2. 7/08/37 EC's letter: "If the Appliance is the Radio-Active, take it on ankle and wrist, opposite sides of the body. If it is the Wet Cell, it would be taken on the growth and the lumbar. Have anodes clean and firmly but not tight on wrist and ankle."
  3. 7/08/37 She wrote: "Am ashamed to tell you that I am still in bed. I sit up a short while several times each day. Am a little stronger. Seem to give out so quickly. Eating in restaurants was not what I needed... That doctor had a technician take my blood count. He said red cells were three million, eight hundred thousand, hemoglobin 45%, and white cells ten thousand.
    "Mr. Cayce, I had reached the point that I did not know how, and did not know how to find out how, to get the understanding to get well, and I had tried so hard until my whole being was about to explode. Finally I collapsed. Well, I am now cured of that. I certainly had a lot of things to be cured of. I don't believe I'll be rebellious any more. I am too glad to be living."
