(Q) In the life reading [
270-15] made on March 26 and the
subsequent reading of June 27, 1928, this entity was given
as one preferring Self, while he that, is to be a Leader with
Vision and Power must in self be a Servant. You will state
if the creative forces of this body has succeeded in applying
corrective measures, that will now permit it to seek that
place on this plane where the ability, knowledge and vision
of the Entity may be exercised to the fullest extent, or,
if the corrective measures applied have not been manifested
at least partial improvement you will then give further
enlightenment with helpful suggestions for complete
accomplishment. Advise body further as to his locating in
the East - if this is coming about properly, and how body
should act respecting same.
(A) The measures as have been taken by the body are having
their effect upon the body in MANY ways and manners. As has
been seen by the body (mental) - and as will be experienced,
and as a natural result of an individual who attempts to, or
who does change the attitude from an inward urge - there
comes those experiences wherein, apparently, this has come
to naught. Or, as may be better illustrated by that which
came to the Master: When there was the determination to set
self apart for the manifestation of the Spirit of the Father,
through THAT physical Being known as the Master, immediately
there came the tempter, and through other channels there
were offered those opportunities to achieve in EARTHLY
measures those very positions that the SPIRITUAL measures
were attaining; yet, as seen, as is KNOWN by the life as is
experienced by those that would make their lives as One
with Him, the approach, the application, the intent and
purpose, the reasoning, the seed from which a result was
to be obtained, came for an improper source. Now, in the
application to THIS individual, [
270], the START is well!
In the application, and in the temptations as will be set
before the mental being, the body-physical, keep self in
that way and manner as to know that, he that would be a
leader must SHOW himself a leader; he that would be friendly
must SHOW himself friendly; he that has ability must SHOW
ability; he that would succeed must pay that price upon WHICH
a FIRM FOUNDATION of the proper seed, the proper intent, the
proper purpose, is set. For one to gain his soul he must
LOSE same in service. For one to attain that which is of
the earthly conditions, one of an executive position, he
must LOSE himself in that to which he would attain. Knowing,
then, that this may be lost in the WRONG direction as well
as in the right, as has been shown the entity - not, then, as
an eye single to the laudation of [
270], but rather as an
eye single for service RENDERED by [
270] to accord the better
service to those whom such positions, such conditions, MUST
needs come. With that continuation, with that purpose set
before self, there will come those changes in the material
position, material sense, which will bring a satisfying, and
a satisfaction of a life, a service, being spent in the
proper way and manner; giving to the body that of earth's
storehouse in position, power, finance, and the ABILITY (if
applied properly) to USE same aright. Do that!
(Q) Since the readings [
270-17] made on June 27, 1928,
W. U. Stock has regained its place in the financial market
but the changes and the combinations mentioned have not
materialized. You will now advise if the negotiations
between the Officers -
(A) (Interrupting) Now these conditions, as have been
outlined, are to be consummated in their time and season.
The advances - as has been given - have occurred. These
will come about in due season. Be not over-anxious in
well-doing. These STILL present an opportunity in a
speculative measure; a GREATER opportunity in that of an
investment measure. Then use plain COMMON sense! Do THAT!
(Q) The Chicago City and Connecting Ry. Preferred Stock
held by this body has made no move -
(A) (Interrupting) Be not unmindful of that information as
has been given. These offer an opportunity to maintain, and
even gain in a measure, that as has been outlined. To swap
horses is bad policies in the middle of the stream. One
must make one's mind sure; follow that as is right, and be
not unmindful of, he that looketh back - when once putting
his hand to the plow - is worse than if he had not KNOWN
anything concerning the matter. For he that knoweth to do
well and doeth it NOT, to HIM it is sin! and if sin lieth
at the door, then bad indeed is the end of that man! Truly
has it been said, he that heareth and doeth not - better
that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he was cast
in the middle of the deep. This not literal, yet THIS IS
literal! that is, he that CONDEMNETH that, that would aid
THROUGH the non-approach of the INNER MAN, rather than that
of the OUTER man, needeth to take heed of his own self. We
are through.

Your letter of November 22nd and the reading of November 21st
have been received. The reading is very satisfactory and I
was indeed glad to know that progress is being made. I
sincerely hope for a continued improvement and that by the
time another check is made that this condition will be near
perfect. Personally, I do not anticipate a change in status
until this reaches near that point.
Now in regard to question [270-18], Par 5-Q. This is a
bug-a-boo and seems to me as though I am sowed up for a long
wait; whereas I was in hopes that some information would be
forthcoming on a switch. Should you at sometime in the near
future have a lull in your schedule so that this could be
worked in satisfactorily, I would like to have the full
question made a separate reading with the idea of developing
this phase with definiteness. As to the securities mentioned
therein, it now seems advisable to omit Warren Foundry and in
place thereof substitute Butler Bros, a Chicago Wholesale.
[There is a lot of talk about this company going into the
chain store business.]
Will you kindly bear this in mind should an opportunity
present itself?
