This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 12th day of June, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [270], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [270]; this we have had before.
2. The body is more affable than ordinary this morning. Something pleases him.
3. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Please examine and state the physical condition of my body as you find it.
   (A) In some respects conditions are much the same as when last we had them here. There are still those conditions disturbing the body as related to the humor which arises from the poisons in the system, that disturb the coordination between the respiratory eliminating system and perspiratory and the alimentary canal. This, as we have indicated, has tended to weaken some portions of the system, as in the glands of the neck and that condition which has existed in the head and the hair, [thinning hair, baldness] the rash at times - as is now indicated on portions of the body. [Psoriasis tendency? See 270-33, Par. 8-A.]
   The specifics as to the use of properties internally in the form of the Ash and the Atomidine, as we find, would be most beneficial to the body in the present. In this manner:
   Take the Ash for periods of five to ten days. Then rest. And after a period of a week take another course of same. Do this until at least three to five courses have been taken, taking one-eighth grain dry on tongue (emptying from container) and washing down with water. And we would find it more helpful to use the violet ray following same, in five to ten minutes after each dose has been taken; specifically over the area of the 4th and 5th dorsal to the head and neck; and it would be more beneficial, too, for the application of the violet ray to be over those glands where the swelling is indicated [Goiter, Cancerous?]; for there will be the tendencies for the eliminations and the activities of the Ash in the system with the other glands of the body, by the stimulation in the circulation with the use of Ash to eliminate same.
   The Atomidine we would take each day, mornings and evenings - mornings before the meal is taken, evenings just before retiring; three to five minims in a glass of water, you see; three minims of morning, five minims of evening. Take this for the same period of time, though - as we find - it would be preferable to take it during the rest period from the Ash.
   Also we would make a lotion for that swelling on the neck, from Plantain and the oil of butterfat. This should be equal parts in weight and boiled together. Necessary that it be made fresh, but massage this once a day - not too severely, but massage gently - local application of same; and with the other properties taken in body we will rid these conditions from the system.
   As to the condition where there has been the colon affectation, there should be kept an adherence to the line of diet that we have indicated, keeping the eliminations in a nominal manner; and the body should be gradually on the improve.
   As to the scalp, we find nothing better than the crude oil - small quantity massaged well into the scalp and cleansed with a twenty percent solution of pure grain alcohol. Do not use the denatured in cleansing scalp. Then a gentle massage with pure white Vaseline. This will be well. Do this at least once a month; rinsing the oil from the hair of morning. And we will find this will improve and keep down the irritations in portions of the scalp, stimulating the growth of the hair.
5. (Q) Is there a physical incapacity that impedes articulation, which occasionally causes a jumbled speech? Please advise a corrective measure.
   (A) As indicated, the application of the violet ray over this portion of the system will tend to make for better coordination in the circulation, both superficial and internal, as there is the stimulation to the circulation; and, as we find, this should overcome the tendencies for disturbance in the vocal box.
6. (Q) What causes creaking bones in upper region of shoulders and spine, and what corrective measures are necessary?
   (A) The stimulation for a more uniform activity of the circulation as related to the lymph and emunctory activity through the portions should supply the necessary burses about the joints and bones for this to be entirely eliminated. The tendency arises from too little a circulation of the lymph and emunctory, especially about the tendons and muscles. It isn't the bones that creak; it's the muscular contraction.
7. (Q) Why does mucous continue to collect in head and throat, especially during sleep? Will you prescribe a solution for use in an atomizer that will relieve?
   (A) As we find, the better than a local application is to remove the causes of the poor circulation; which, as we find, will be maintained by the use of the properties and the application of those things indicated for this particular portion of the body, see? If there is the CONSCIOUSNESS that there is the NECESSITY for a solution, equal parts of salt, soda and cream of tartar dissolved together in three times their quantity or weight of water; this warm, not hot but tepid. Or the Dobell solution, as may be called at times, will rid the mucous; but this will be only palliative unless the causes of same are removed.
8. (Q) As my new eye glasses are not giving entire satisfaction, are other corrective measures necessary?
   (A) We are correcting these in the application of the stimulation to the centers specifically in the upper dorsal and cervical area, as indicated, for a better circulation in the sympathetic or sensory circulation. And this should stimulate the activity to such ways and manners that we will have no trouble with the new fitting of glasses. For the measurements are correct, the correction for the tendency for astigmatism in the one eye is correct; the cylindrical measurements in the right eye, as we find, are correct. But the tendency has been to DRAW the eye in the focal vision in the new change, on account of the lack of the circulation to REMOVE and to carry impulse to the optic forces. Hence the irritation that has occurred at times.
   With these changes and applications as indicated, this should disappear.
9. (Q) Regarding mental and material: I request through you one thought designed to assist in my efforts to raise above the personal concern of life.
   (A) Let that mind be in thee that the application of the abilities of self in the material, in the mental and in the spiritual thought, be above JUST for self. Let the purposes ever be no day without a kind word, a thought of another not in as good circumstance as self. This ideal set as the standard and measurements of self's application will build a consciousness of creative forces in the individual as to bring an expression of this influence in the life. Let thy mind and thine body-efforts, all of thine energies, be that there may be a greater service to thy fellow man. This will bring the consciousness of that ye seek.
10. (Q) Will the work I now handle be transferred to another department this year?
    (A) As we find, while there is the continued effort on the part of those in charge of the affairs of the organization with which the body is associated and active, to combine these in those directions we have formerly indicated, there will not be this change made in the next twelve months. While there had been the contemplated change for last October, yet these were altered by the activities in other transmission lines that made offers in connection with other associations. But eventually these changes will come about.
    As to how the body should prepare itself, this has been given - but we do not find these changes being made for at least another two and a half to three years.
11. (Q) Are the plans for this expansion of the Western Union Telegraph Co. so fixed that you can now inform me of them?
    (A) As has just been indicated, there will be a closer combine with the Radio, American Tel, International Tel and Western Union, but these will be changed in the future - not in the immediate present.
12. (Q) Is this the change I was advised to accept without cutting self loose from the affiliations that will make for greater expansion?
    (A) This the change, as has been indicated; for all transmissions, all expressions in these fields of activity will, in the main, be combined.
13. (Q) Will present over-land lines be abandoned for air channels?
    (A) They will not be abandoned for the aerial lines. Not for some years yet. To be sure, in varied portions of the country where there has been and is the continued destruction of such lines through nature, or activities that are beyond the present control of man's activities, these will gradually be put into execution - but for the main trunk lines, be some periods yet.
14. (Q) Pending this development, outline a curriculum I should undertake in preparing self for advancement.
    (A) As has been indicated for the body in the previous experiences or expressions of information, there should be the preparation of self in being acquainted with the activities in the various forms of transmission; as in the Radio, the activities that combine same both with the telegraph and telephone in its connection with the radio activity. This only the line through which the body may find the preparations for the greater activity. Still, as we find, if the activities remain as in the present, in the years to come the body will be moved East again.
15. (Q) Should I continue to hold the stock I own in Western Union Telegraph?
    (A) Hold it; for Western Union will be split again before the combine with Radio and Telephone, which will make one and a half for one at the present.
16. (Q) Please interpret the astrological situation respecting the economic trend of business and inform me of the outlook to expect for the rest of this year.
    (A) As we find, while there are many conditions in some fields of activity that will be in the position of requiring changes in the present status of production in the area for the agricultural activity, the general commercial activities throughout THIS land will continue to be nearer and nearer to a normalcy. To be sure, there will be in various LOCAL conditions that which will affect more or less transmission lines with which the body is associated - be local conditions to be met, but the general will continue on the improve; and, as may be seen in the coming elections in the fall, the general trend of the public opinions as related to the activities in the affairs of the nation as a whole and PARTICULARLY as related to the COMMERCIAL associations abroad - will be for the greater expansion - in the abroad.
17. (Q) Are the efforts of the administration to coordinate the attitude of the classes with the masses developing satisfactorily?
    (A) As we said, it will be more SPECIFICALLY and definitely indicated by the attitude and activity of the peoples as a whole in the coming elections.
18. (Q) Will the administration recent legislative proposal to build up a 25-75 silver ratio to gold facilitate international trade?
    (A) As indicated in this field of activity, there will be the greater expansion in the relationships of the country with the foreign relationships. But as on the specific basis of the gold and silver ratio, no this will be changed considerably before it becomes acceptable; though the basis of activity is sound and correct, the RATIO will be changed.
19. (Q) When will I receive my share of the operating profits from the Nevada mine?
    (A) In March. That's a long time off yet, but there won't be a very great deal before March.
20. (Q) Will sufficient water become available to permit continuous operations of the mill on this property?
    (A) Yes; after the middle of August.
21. (Q) Outline a plan to follow in securing a satisfactory buyer and price for the Real Estate at 2314 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago.
    (A) With those changes that are naturally coming in these surroundings, as indicated before respecting this property specific, it should be followed rather along the lines of the regular channels for the disposition of this; and, as will be seen from the activities in this particular vicinity of this town or city here, we will find this may be consummated in the early part of the coming fall or latter portion of this summer, to the greater advantage, and through the regular channels would be the better manner to build up the connections and associations for exchange or for direct sale.
22. (Q) Since the environments under which my mother lives there are not satisfactory, would it be advisable to move her to California before this Real Estate is sold?
    (A) Be satisfactory to move before the real estate is sold, for then there will be more specific effort in that direction.
23. (Q) Are details of the Earth's Eruptions in 1936 so fixed that you can give me an outline of the Pacific Coast area to be affected, along with precautionary measures to be exercised during and after this catastrophe?
    (A) All of these are, as is ever on or in such an activity, dependent upon individuals or groups who are in or keep an attitude respecting the needs, the desires, the necessary requirements in such a field of activity. That some are DUE and WILL occur is WRITTEN, as it were, but - as we find - as to specific date or time in the present this may not be given.
24. (Q) Will the drought and heat in the farming area create a shortage of grain and food supplies, or is there ample surplus to meet requirements?
    (A) As indicated in times past, the drought will create a shortage, but there is ample to meet the needs for this coming season; for the one following, well - that may be different. For, will not only in this present year have a shortage in the area of grain in America and Canada, but in the coming season in the Argentine, in Australia and Africa will be the same character of shortage. Then in '35 and '36 it will be felt the more throughout the country.
