This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street and Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of November, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - through her mother, Mrs. [255].

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [276], and the life reading for her through these sources on February 20, 1931. You will answer the questions regarding this, and regarding her development in the present.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [276], and the information that has been given as respecting the entity and its development through experiences in the earth's plane.
3. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Is entity training herself in the way of spiritual truth to the best of her ability?
   (A) In the training as is being received by the entity in the present, will lead, does lead, to those opportunities that will make for a greater development in this experience. As to the manner in which an individual uses that it gains through any experience, makes for the development or retardment of an entity. That which proceeds from an entity's reaction to truths, spiritual, mental OR physical, is that which it builds. What a body-mind, an entity, is able to give forth by the reactions to truth, in whatever sphere or phase that may be presented TO an entity, is development.
5. (Q) What profession would give entity best opportunity to minister to others?
   (A) As has been indicated, that ability wherein the entity may find the releasing of the abilities to control, or to advise and counsel in those directions that will bring the greater amount of insight to others in their respective fields of endeavor. As has been indicated, in the home - and in those fields that pertain to those endeavors; these, as we find, offer the greater opportunity for the entity in its development, or that which may be termed - were it made as of a professional nature - as of an economist, or home instructress, or one training or instructing those IN the fields of endeavors as pertaining to the handling of conditions as surround same. See?
6. (Q) What would be best for development of entity during summer of 1932, to go to camp, or to be with parents at ... Lake?
   (A) This, as we find, may depend somewhat upon the entity's own awakening within self, and upon the environs that will be made about the home, or about ... Lake. In camp, in the present status of the mental development for the entity, there would be found - unless there was a more stabilized condition within self - those environs that would make for radical ideas, or changes in the mental outlook of the entity; though the PHYSICAL development in such might be well, yet the SAME physical development might be had in the more pleasant, or the more congenial, surroundings for the entity, in and about the home - and about the lake. With the changes as may be seen or expected about those environs, WE would say - at least in the COMING year - at home would be the better for the body.
7. (Q) How should entity minister through the music spheres?
   (A) These, as we find, would have the better outlet on those of the reed instruments; for these, as we find, appertain the closer to NATURE in the imitation of the voices or the expressions of the animal, or the bird kingdom, and hence would have a stronger appeal for the entity, and ALLOW an expression that might not be found in the stringed instruments.
8. (Q) Name instrument, please.
   (A) The flute, especially; or any of the reeds.
9. (Q) How should entity minister to others through color?
   (A) Color, to the entity, has an APPEALING place; as do the activities of animals or the outdoors, or those that make noises - as it were. So does color VIBRATE to the entity. More in those that are of the TONES, or the shades, or in the combination of color and shades and tones. These, as we find, are that - HARMONY is more easily found by the entity in HARMONIZING tones, shades, or color.
10. (Q) Has entity been associated with Mr. [4916] [GD's note: Case number was given to avoid using name of her history teacher] in a former incarnation?
    (A) There seems to be a bond of sympathy, but as to have been afar off; rather as of hearing OF, than being closely associated with. Rather as periods where there was the considering OF associations, than of close association. These, as we find, appeared through those periods when the entity was in those developments in that of the animal trainer, and during the periods when the entity was in the changing of the attitudes of mental developments by the entity - see? [See Xmas. 1931 letter under 276-3, Par. R2.]
11. (Q) Give exact time of physical birth and soul birth.
    (A) With THIS particular entity, we find there was - in that as would be called time, by man - only a period of four to four and a half hours difference. This mooted questions, as may be asked by many, is - as we find - illustrated here: In the material world life is of the UNIVERSAL consciousness, as all development through that known or called evolution of life in a material plane, and is a portion of a body from conception to the transition in what is called death. That which enters, as the soul, is that that would use, or be the companion of, that life-physical through any given period of existence in an earth's appearance. As the variations come, these are brought by the activities of those who - through their OWN desire - attract or detract those that would manifest in a particular body. See?
12. (Q) Why is there a difference, and what happened in the interim?
    (A) A physical being, or life, as given, is from inception, and is of an universal consciousness - see? When a physical being, or body, as this body, is brought into being by birth into the PHYSICAL world, the INTERIM between that is as of THAT period when the decision is being made by THAT soul that would occupy THAT individual body.
13. (Q) Just where does body's duty lie towards animals in this incarnation?
    (A) The ability to control and to show that close affection that may exist between the human mind, as controlling through the manners in which the entity is efficient, and to bring to the attention of others how animals - in their various spheres - are dependent upon their owners, or those who contact same, as to what THEIR activities may be to the benefit of man; for, as was given in the beginning, "Be ye fruitful; multiply, and SUBDUE the earth." Make all that was made, MAKING that - then - as an ensample of, or COMPLETING as it were - the promise that is given to man, that he may be one with, one of, the CREATIVE forces in the universe, by the manner in which he may use those various abilities through his experiences in a material world; and as all of earth's creation is a form or manifestation of the love as is shown forth to those things that may be one-with the Creator, so may the love that may been seen between those of the lower order, or those in their development in a material plane, so may this entity show to others, to the animal kingdom, that as has been received, as may be given by self, by the entity, in THEIR behalf.
14. (Q) Give date of incarnation as Phoebia [in Rome] and describe strange abilities of entity in that period, also as to control of these beasts of the field, dens, and lairs?
    (A) This, as we find, was during those periods when man was called upon oft to defend self against the beasts of the fields, in dens, in lairs, in arenas; and the entity through its own development - as had been attained or gained during that period - showed forth the ability to walk with the denizen of the forest without being afraid, also to walk among those in the arena without fear; and no HARM CAME TO the entity through their activity, but from those that made themselves lower than the beasts; for, as has been given, all may be tamed, but the tongue hath no man tamed! In that day, then, during the first century, as is counted in the present.
15. (Q) Why was entity a man or horseman in the Arabian incarnation? [Where Ra-Ta was banished from Egypt.]
    (A) That would depend upon those desires as were made by the entity from its appearance in the PREVIOUS incarnation, see? and finding, as it were, the opportunity in this particular period to enter in that capacity as had been desired, so the entity entered in as one who could fill, FULFILL, that desire; for, as should be gained by all: Desire brought the earth and the heavens into being from an All-Wise Creator. So man, by his heritage to that creation, may bring through desire, whether of earthly, heavenly, spiritually, those things that they, the individual, the entity, must meet, by creating, making, BEING that desire! Hence, as we find, all the various phases of changes as may be wrought in man's or woman's activities; for by taking THOUGHT no man may add one cubit, nor can - by taking thought - the head be changed one whit; yet desire, and the fathering and mothering of desire, may change a whole universe! for, from the desires of the heart do the activities of the brain, of the physical being, shape that as would be created by same. See? So the entity, in seeking in this particular appearance, found in that appearance the manner of expression so desired.
