GENERAL QUESTIONNAIRE PART I: [[
288]'s responses follow
directly after the questions.]
1. What jobs have you held since your reading? (in
chronological order) Secretary to same employer or firm, to
present date.
2. Have you ever spoken with Edgar Cayce? Yes. If so, did
you know him? Yes, indeed. I knew him very well, almost as
a part of his big "Cayce family" over a period of 20 years.
I sought counsel from him consciously as well as while he was
in trance, and always received help.
3. Do you feel that Edgar Cayce's source of information
depicted you accurately? Very accurately.
4. At the time of the reading, did you have confidence in his
counseling? Yes.
5. Do you feel that the reading helped you? How? Yes. It
helped me to understand myself, my inner motives, and how I
could relate better to others.
6. As you look back, do you see patterns that were shown in
the readings that you didn't see before? Please explain.
Yes. The more I read and study my readings the more I get
out of them. Many things unfold to my understanding as my
life unfolds, so that now they are perfectly clear to me.
7. Do you think that your life could have been made better by
following the advice more closely? Yes!
8. If Edgar Cayce were alive would you refer people to him
for help? Yes!
9. Did any of his predictions manifest themselves? (Granted
that you followed his advice.) Many!
[Note: Remember that you remain anonymous. If there is any
additional information which you would like to add to help
me, it would be appreciated.]
PART TWO OF QUESTIONNAIRE
Considering the fact that you obtained 54 readings, I will
assume that you put confidence in the readings. Absolutely!
Would you please look back and describe those things which
Cayce said of you (personality, inclinations, predictions)
which have shown themselves to be true? "Much good to many
people"; loyalty to friendships; fear of knives & cutting
instruments; distrust of opposite sex; ability to put into
words spiritual concepts & interpretations; forte in home and
young people; learning that all must be used in God's
service. Not snap judgements but being sure all is done in
His will.
Do you feel the readings were consistent over the years?
Very consistent.
5/11/73 GD's answer to Helen Ruth Schroeder - in re
information in the Edgar Cayce readings which has helped me
most:
As I look back over the years, it seems to me that the
outstanding information in the Edgar Cayce readings which has
helped me the most, both in my own personal readings and in
studying all the readings, has to do with:
(1) General health rules and guidance for gaining and
maintaining health, not only for my own self but for enabling
me to better serve.
(2) Mental rules for keeping a balance, guiding me in the
knowledge and application of the fact that mind is the
builder, that whatever I sow I must reap; that Jesus who
became the Christ was the Master Builder and has set the
pattern for me to follow.
(3) The books A SEARCH FOR GOD, I and II, giving lessons in
soul development, step by step, so that I can, through
meditation and in applying these lessons, know right from
wrong and be able immediately to know when I have made a
misstep and be able to get back on the right track.
(4) The spiritual awareness that I am a child of God and that
it is my destiny to again become aware of my oneness with God
and yet retain my individuality in Him.
(5) The Bible and its place in awakening me to a remembrance
of that niche I once occupied and the WAY I may take, or must
take, to return to it.
(6) A realization that it is a JOYOUS experience to be in the
earth at this time and to have a part in the growth in grace,
in knowledge, and in the spiritual awakening that must come.
2/01/80 Dear A.R.E. Family:
My heart overflows with gratitude for your surprise birthday
party for me. Forever I will carry the memory of your
beautiful smiling faces, the huge "one of a kind" birthday
card with your messages; the red roses, the white daisies;
the enormous cake and other goodies; the many cards and gifts
which kept coming the next day; the many hugs and
reassurances that I am beloved by you even as you are among
my beloved.
The prophecy in my Life Reading of Nov. 1923 is still being
fulfilled: "One who, with others, will draw many of the more
beautiful things of the earth plane about them." YOU, and
all the wonderful people active in "the work", are "the
others" referred to.
May God continue to guide, guard and direct us in the
carrying forward of His Work.
Love,
Gladys
1/05/84 GD to Vic Reiffer, Gap, Pa., in answer to his request
for my favorite verses from the readings:
Gladys to Vic Reiffer: These are possibly my favorite quotes
from the Edgar Cayce Readings; at least I remember them more
often and try to live up to them:
262-81, Par. 10-A:
(Q) What is truth?
(A) THAT WHICH MAKES AWARE OF THE DIVINE WITHIN EACH AND
EVERY ACTIVITY THAT IS OF THE MENTAL, THE MATERIAL, THE
SPIRITUAL SELF - AND IS A GROWTH IN EACH AND EVERY SOUL.
288-1, Par. 5:
ONE WHOSE WILL FORCE - WHEN KEPT IN THAT STRAIGHT AND NARROW
WAY - WILL LEAD TO THAT OF THE TRUTH, AND THE MAKING OF THE
SOUL, SPIRIT AND PHYSICAL FORCES FREE. [John 8:32]
AND YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU
FREE.
281-31:
...there is that as may be said to be the literal and the
spiritual and the metaphysical interpretation of almost all
portions of the Scripture...Yet all of these to be true, to
be practical, to be applicable in the experience of
individuals, must coordinate; or be as one, even as the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Thank you, Vic. Use whichever one you like best.
Love, Gladys
