This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 11th day of December, 1923, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [288].

TEXT

1. EC: Now we find this body exceptionally good throughout. In some functionings of the nerve system we find some abnormal conditions, and in the tissue some congestion at the present time.
2. In the mental we find some conditions from outside that bring at the present time disturbing elements to the mental forces.
3. The spiritual we find exceptionally good, as is the physical in the general way, or as a whole.
4. Now these are conditions as we find them in this body, [288], we are speaking of. First:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, the body is well balanced throughout. There is only the tendency to create more of the lymphatic forces in the system. Hence, the body would be warned of conditions that might arise in the system through such conditions. These, of course, may be prevented, but only this as warning.
6. Those of the strains any of the organs producing an extra secretion in the emunctories would, or could, with the condition in system, produce that of over lymphatic affection. That is, doing nothing to produce strain on the functioning of the liver, or the kidneys, else we may produce dropsical affections in the system, or else that of elephantiasis in the system through these organs in their functioning. 7. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, the body is well balanced throughout. Only in the equalizing center between sympathetic and cerebro-spinal in the plexus center, in the connection between the hypogastric, pneumogastric, and solar plexus central forces do we find where the equalizing or coordination may be thrown out of balance by any exceedingly nerve-racking cerebro-spinal, or over sympathetic forces in the system, [See 288-27, Par. 26-A clarification] [Karma?] to the detriment of the digestive tract, to the equalizing of brain forces, or blood to brain forces, or these forces producing these conditions. This is not abnormal, but for this body may be corrected through general conditions, as we will see.
8. In this same force, and produced by this unequalized force, as this affects the pineal glands in the base of the brain and extends through the whole system. This, in conjunction with the supplying nerves to the sensory system, finds expression in the eye, and from this we have these direct conditions. The pressure in the circulation produces to the retinae proper, especially in the left side, that of astigmatism in that the lacteal forces do not bring parallel effect in reverse vision, or that the reflection brings the burning sensation in its action for the lack of blood flow to the eye, or again with the repression there is too much, then the headaches are produced in the back of head first, then in through the temple to the nerves that govern the exterior portion of eye. The lids burn. The reflex forces to optic nerve proper function normally. This is produced first by this condition in the dorsal plexus center, and by reflex vibrations has been brought about.
9. In the tissue, or mucus coating of throat and larynx, we find the same nerve forces have brought congestion at the present time.
10. THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, we find brain forces very good, the rest of the system functioning in a normal way.
11. Lungs, digestion, liver, pancreas, spleen, duodenum, upper portion of intestinal tract, those of the colon, the hepatic circulation, the kidneys, the organs of the pelvis, all function at present in their normal way.
12. RELIEF, to relieve the condition we would for this body take specific exercise of the body, before retiring in evening.
13. That of the circular motion for the upper portion of body, from hips up, placing the hands on hips and circle the body - see? First to the right, then to the left. That is, of course, when the body is relaxed.
14. Then of the arms over-circle above the head, bend backward, bend forward, three times each motion.
15. Then the head and neck exercise for the throat, larynx and eyes.
16. Then every third day, for several weeks, give the vibrations of violet ray [hand machine, bulb applicator] to the 10th and 11th dorsal regions, and gently across the sacral region and the brachial plexus region, and gently over the eye and back of head.
17. Do that, and keep the body as it is at present.
18. Do not use, after these vibrations are begun, stimulation through glasses for the eyes.
19. Do not work with the light shining in the eyes.
20. DO THAT for this body, [288].

BACKGROUND

REPORTS

1. 2/16/24 She obtained a Ck. Life Rdg. 288-3. In requesting this she reported in regard to her Physical Rdg. 288-2:
   "In the early fall of 1923 I began to have further trouble with my eyes, after having worn glasses when using my eyes for two years. I went back to Dr. Eugene Calloway, one of the best eye specialists in the south, and had a thorough examination. He changed my glasses, putting a stronger lens in my left eye, saying the condition was the result of severe eye strain and that unless very careful I would have serious trouble with my eyes; that I should wear the glasses continually, taking them off only when going to sleep. I followed his directions strictly. Nevertheless, two months later my eyes were very much worse, burned so that I could scarcely keep them open, and I began having terrible headaches. In the meantime, I met Edgar Cayce. So, I obtained 288-2, telling him only that I wished to know the cause and treatment for my constant headaches.
   "I took the glasses off at once when starting the recommended treatment. In three weeks my eyes were perfectly normal, the headaches were gone. I can now do my office work and read as much as I like in the evenings, as well."
2. 6/30/24 She obtained her next Ck. Physical Rdg., 288-7, advising that her mental attitude was cause of her physical condition of poor digestion, assimilation and elimination, etc. [See subsequent readings for other ailments.]
3. 10/20/41 "To this date I have not worn glasses. My eyes are better than they've ever been."
