2/04/43 She requested Ck. Physical
288-55, saying: "I went to
Dr. W. L. Taylor (M.D.) regarding stopping of menstruation
since Oct. 10th. Rather, I had him come to me since I had
been bedridden with the mumps, first in one side, then the
other. He asked me, 'Are you sure you're not pregnant?' I
assured him that although I would dearly love to bear a
child, I had never known a man. (The rdg. 288-54 was right
about me worrying. I had family-troubles besides financial
ones. My brother [
391] and his wife [
934] had separated,
were being divorced, and I was taking care of their little
boy [
1208]. My sister [
2111] was living with me, with her
family, and she was pregnant expecting a second child).
"Dr. Taylor finally recommended stilbestrol tablets,
synthetic estrogen, female sex hormones - one tablet each
night. I have taken six of these, but they have made me
terribly nauseated. I am determined not to take any more of
them unless the reading says it is absolutely necessary. Dr.
Taylor said if these tablets don't work, I am possibly
starting the menopause and he will give me a shot in the hip
each week for several months to tide me over that!!!
"I have two lumps or bags, goitre like, under my chin, which
developed when the mumps swelling decreased." [

10/45 "The Ipsab tightened the tooth somewhat and the
dentist watched it, thinking I would lose it shortly
[Dr. T. L. Brooks, Jr.]. It was a lower front tooth.
Recently it came out and Dr. Brooks took my measurements
for preparing a tooth to insert or attach. While waiting for
it, I kept pushing the teeth on each side toward the middle,
with my tongue. When I went back for the false tooth he
could not place it, since the space for it had closed up. He
said he'd never seen such a thing happen."
