This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of November, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Edgar Cayce, Honorary Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of the body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. We do not find such good conditions in the general physical forces. There is more of those disturbances in the pulmonaries and rather the deep-seated disturbance there; weakening the vitality of the system through the lack of the proper oxidization of the blood flow.
4. And with those disturbances in the liver and gall duct area, as have been indicated, there is produced rather an acute condition through that portion of the system.
5. This then combined with the effect of cold, congestion upon the lymph and emunctory circulation, produces the regurgitation through the duodenum, as well as oft through the lower portion of the lower stomach - or that area between the stomach or digestive force and the jejunum.
6. Thus we have a superacidity, with the inclination for formations of gas from ANY of the attempts for digestive forces.
7. Hence the needs for more of the Alcaroid as a REGULAR assistant in the digestive forces - at least twice OR three times each day, about twenty minutes after the meals.
8. The use of any absorbent - as the Castor Oil Packs, combined with - later in the evening - the Epsom Salts Packs - would be beneficial; as well as the use of eliminants.
9. The stimulation osteopathically would be for the EMPTYING of the stomach into the intestinal system; stimulating the flow of the lymph and emunctory circulation through the upper portion of the digestive system.
10. An expectorant made or prepared in this manner would be most beneficial. Add ingredients in the order indicated!
11. To 4 tablespoonsful of Water add 2 tablespoonsful of Strained Honey. Let come to a boil. Skim off that which arises on top. When this has cooled somewhat, though not entirely cold nor yet hot, add:

    Apple Brandy.................2 tablespoonsful,
Syrup of Horehound...........1 tablespoonsful,
Syrup of Ipecac............1/2 teaspoonful,
Chloroform..................10 drops.

12. Shake these ingredients together, and the dose would be taken by spoon - a teaspoonful about once every three to four hours; unless there are coughing spells.
13. This will act upon the pulmonaries as well as the kidneys in assisting to eliminate or throw off the poisons from the intestinal system, as through the circulation from pulmonaries to the alimentary canal.
14. Keep the eliminations with any good eliminant; as the Caroid - or in Zilatone, or in any of the Caroid derivatives that are combined to work with the Alcaroid which should be taken as indicated.
15. These, with sufficient of the enemas to eliminate the poisons, should soon make for the better conditions.
16. Ready for questions.
17. (Q) What about the diet during this period?
    (A) That which is easily assimilated. Fruits and fruit juices, as well as those of meat or beef juices are preferable.
