TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, conditions are NOT good; and unless measures are taken for corrections, they will be much worse.
4. There should be those corrections, - either by operative measures or chemical, or both, - of conditions which exist in the gall duct and the areas in the lower portion of the jejunum and the upper portion of the colon.
5. If this disturbance is allowed to continue, it may so involve the area itself as to cause perforation - or such stresses as to become malignant in its nature. [Incipient cancer?]
6. These should be analyzed, should be studied. There should be such applications as to aid in purifying and in relieving the distresses there.
7. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Please outline in detail just the line of treatment the body should pursue.
   (A) As indicated, these conditions should be considered from the standpoint of operative measures, as well as the local applications to purify system.
9. (Q) What local application would you advise?
   (A) This depends upon who is to make the examinations and suggestions. As we find, Woodhouse or Taylor, or both, would be very well. [Robert Woodhouse, M.D.; Waller L. Taylor, M.D.]
10. (Q) Do you mean that operative measures are necessary?
    (A) As indicated, there should be those examinations, those tests, and those applications through those suggestions, so that IF it becomes necessary for operative measures there will NOT be conflicting conditions.

BACKGROUND

1. 8/23/41 EC obtained Ck. Physical rdg. 294-203 for intestinal obstruction.

REPORTS

1. 9/15/41 GD's note: EC went to Dr. Robert Woodhouse that afternoon and was examined. Dr. W. didn't think he would have to have an operation. He gave a belladonna compound to dilate the colon, advised having a colonic, which EC did the next morning - going to Norfolk for it, to the office of Dr. James R. Parker, M.D.
2. 9/16/41 In the afternoon, after having had the colonic in the morning, EC felt terrible and was lying down. Suddenly he heard a voice very distinctly and firmly, inside himself, saying:
   "GET UP AND GET THAT READING - IF YOU EVER EXPECT TO DO ANY MORE!"
   He jumped up immediately and felt like a different person; pain had completely left him. He got the two ck. rdgs. scheduled, 2015-8 and 1553-25, and led the Bible Group meeting that night. See his ltr. 10/24/41 describing the experience, under 1770-5 Reports.
3. 9/17/41 GD's note: EC says he has no pain whatever this morning. Hs has gone about his work as if nothing had happened.
4. 9/27/41 See 2593-1 business rdg. in re missing papers, warning EC against rdg. of this type, lest he (EC) be tempted by disincarnate entities.
