This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of November, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [295].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [295], present in this room, who seeks advice concerning all the physical, mental and spiritual phases of her life. You will please answer questions regarding these, also certain questions pertaining to her life reading which are not clear to her.
2. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [295], present in this room, and phases respecting the life - physical, mental and spiritual.
3. In the physical we find there are conditions as need correction, for the more near normal functioning of the physical organs of the body. These, as we find, make for a pressure in the nerve system of such a nature and character, that - unless corrected - must bring those of destructive forces either to the mental or the physical being. These, as we find, have especially to do with the blood supply as related to assimilations and eliminations; also as respecting the organs of regeneration, and especially as related to those pressures and those conditions existent in the pelvic organs as related to eliminations through the periods, or menses. These, as we find, have especially to do with those of the nerves' reactions in the body, and are in the position of making permanent lesions unless corrected.
4. We would, through the proper manipulations osteopathically - and with local applications [womb packing?] - adjust the organs of pelvis themselves, else we may expect those mental deviations that will be detrimental to the well being of the body.
5. Internally, we would take those properties in Wine of Cardui - but do not take same unless the corrections are made, for it would be more harmful than beneficial - for they must work one with another.
6. In the mental forces of the body, ready for questions.
7. (Q) What is the cause of the queer snapping in the joints when the body moves at times, and what may be done to correct this?
   (A) This has just been given. Those strains that are on the nerve system, where the blood supply - in its assimilation, as comes from joints themselves - would create the conditions as body is being warned of. Rheumatic, arthritic, and such conditions, would be a result - or mental deviations.
8. (Q) What is the cause of the weakness in the left eye, just when did it happen, and what can be done to restore the normal sight and straighten same? [Slightly cross-eyed.]
   (A) Nervous condition, as has been given, and the outlined treatment as has been given for the whole general nervous system will make those corrections. That's physical! Mentally, we are ready for questions.
9. (Q) For what purpose did the entity come into this plane?
   (A) To manifest those forces through which the body, in its manifested force, gives to that of the material world that gained through the mental and spiritual forces of body.
10. (Q) How long will it take to fulfil this purpose?
    (A) Lifetime!
11. (Q) Will it be necessary to re-enter the earth plane?
    (A) So live, so act, in the present, that it will NOT be necessary.
12. (Q) How can the entity best develop the hidden abilities and talents which she feels are innate?
    (A) Be sure they are not just FEELINGS, and that there ARE talents. Use that that is in hand - then when those are put to the better purpose, conditions, surroundings and environs will make for the use of others. Do not kick against the pricks. [Acts 9:5] [See clarification in 295-3, Par. 14-A.]
13. (Q) Just what line of study should she take up in order to develop most and be able to manifest the better in the flesh?
    (A) Self!
14. (Q) Would it be well to continue her voice lessons?
    (A) When time permits, yes. But manifest the other first.
15. (Q) Please advise in regard to her afflicted mother, Mrs. [847] of ..., Okla. In a physical reading given on her dated May 8th, 1930, a question was asked as to whether it would be best for her to come to Virginia Beach. [847-2, Par. 7-A] The answer was in the negative, saying that the mental conditions should first be changed. She still wants to come. Would it be best for her to now come to Virginia Beach in order that she may better be taken care of?
    (A) No! [EC evidently in psychic state forasaw impending close of Cayce Hospital - which took place in Feb. 1931.]
16. (Q) Just when would it be best for her to come?
    (A) That depends upon the mental attitude, and those conditions as surround same.
17. (Q) Where would be best for her to go? [To be treated?]
    (A) Oklahoma City.
18. (Q) In regard to the entity's life reading [295-1], just what is it that is innate in the entity that would lead to unhappiness in marriage?
    (A) Mistrust of men!
19. (Q) Does this mean the entity should never consider marriage in this life, but go through life never expecting to have a home of her own, for which she has yearned since a child?
    (A) Be well to choose, or to take that one [mentioned in Par. 22-A below] - if she so desires - and bear the consequences! Make her a bigger and a better woman! but those conditions as we have outlined are as we have seen them!
20. (Q) How can the entity best overcome the loneliness that so often besets her?
    (A) Fill the life with the interests of others, and not so much of self - or belittle self, or condemn self for the conditions. Fill the life in the interests of others.
21. (Q) Just what does this phrase in the life reading mean, "We find those of the natures taking on that of application of self's abilities to the aid, benefit, of others not IN such relations will fill, should fill, the present experience to a life worth while and the greater development for the entity in the present experience will be found through such channels?" Just what does it mean by, "not IN such relations"?
    (A) Just what has been given in this, that there is - has been - too much in the present experience of the condemnation of others and of self. This makes for those conditions as are here outlined. The remedy, as given - be more interested in the affairs, conditions, of others - but of others that are of the same mental and spiritual inclinations.
22. (Q) Just what have been the associations of the entity with Edwin ... of ..., St., San Antonio, Texas, in past incarnanations, and what should be their status now?
    (A) We haven't him here! We have only this life! May get his separate!
23. (Q) What does this mean in the life reading, "the entity may give much, the entity may suffer much, the entity may develop much"?
    (A) Just in this line as has been given. In associations with individuals in a different relation, may suffer much - and yet develop much; giving much in the satisfaction of those conditions, physical and mental, as pertain to others with whom the entity has been - or may be - associated.
24. (Q) Has the entity succeeded in replacing fear by love to any extent since receiving her life reading?
    (A) No.
25. (Q) How can she best do this?
    (A) In study of self, and relationships to God and man!
26. (Q) Has she learned to condemn less?
    (A) Little!
27. (Q) Why is the entity so backward about telling others of her beloved Savior?
    (A) Little confidence in self, and less trust in others!
28. (Q) How can the entity best develop her personality?
    (A) Holding the consciousness of the Master in front of self, acting in that way and manner in which He would act under every and all circumstances.
29. (Q) How can the entity best help Edgar Cayce, who has so wonderfully befriended her?
    (A) The application of those things in self as related to those conditions. [If they are] Are they as one, then act in that manner.
30. (Q) Are Martha [See 560-1 on 9/30/31] and Lazarus [See 1924-1 on 1/08/31] in the earth plane?
    (A) We don't find them here, but they are! Been associated with, and in love with the body. We are through.
