TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [311], present in this room, and you will answer the questions which he will ask you regarding all phases of his own life, as well as Life as a whole.
2. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, [311], present in this room, the various phases of the life and those conditions and circumstances that surround the body.
3. In the study of Life and its many varied phases, while the mental and mental aspects are the RULING factors in an individual entity's own development, well that those external conditions that INFLUENCE for urges IN the mental be studied also. Not that ANY ONE phase be exclusive or excluded from the rest, if the body would know and understand impulses in individual activities that MAY be controlled or made apparent in their actions BY these varying influences, as WELL as how such influence self; that is, as astrological influences, astronomical influences, numerological influences, AND such - for these are as SIGNS of that as has been builded in an entity's whole make-up. To be sure, where other individuals rather than self are concerned, their numerological, astrological or astronomical effects may have or may NOT have been influenced by THEIR reaction TO their immediate or their environmental conditions, or their hereditary conditions; yet knowing how or why, or WHERE such influences effect or AFFECT an influence in Life, or ON Life itself, and comparing same with SELF'S influence, gives ONE an insight into character, personality, individuality, and KNOWING same one is INDEED with an understanding that is worth while.
4. Now, if one becomes so accustomed to viewing life from such a standpoint WHOLLY, to be sure such an one may soon be termed a CRANK, yet these considered - Life as a whole considered - will CERTAINLY make for a much more INTERESTING and WORTH WHILE EXPERIENCE for all!
5. These intimations are given as an insight into THIS entity's - [311]'s - OWN experience.
6. In ANY influence, will - a self, the ego, the I Am - is the greater force TO be dealt with, but as numbers do influence, as astronomical and astrological conditions do influence, a KNOWLEDGE of same certainly gives an individual a foresight into relationships with individuals.
7. As to how such information is to be used, THAT [is] the climax or the development of an individual. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Will I leave the employ of the ... Railroad within the next two years?
   (A) Astrologically and numerologically speaking, this would be not before eighteen months - UNLESS there are some culminations, or some changes in COOPERATIVE forces that are outside the body's scope of experience at present were to come about. That would, then, depend upon the desire or the POSITION the entity or body WOULD make for self as respecting same.
9. (Q) Have any members of my immediate family been associated with me in the past?
   (A) Most have been in one or another experience, as is seen in most of parenthood that has brought about conditions as related to the development of individualities that BROUGHT them INTO THEIR associations. As with this entity, there are two - at least - of the family, [sisters [630] & [768]?] other THAN that of the father and mother - [2843] that have been associated. ONE brother [2383?] in that of the former experience in the American, when with the developments about the new English speaking settlements and those surroundings, that which prompted or brought about in the entity itself a desire for the surrounding country, or this portion of American country - in the former, see? Then in that wherein those associations in the warring lands, those were the associations - not AS father and mother, but as associates, friends, aides and assistants - THESE brought about those relationships.
10. (Q) What is the next step in preparing myself to carry out my part in the [Edgar Cayce] work?
    (A) Well has it been given, that where credence is given there interest is shown, [See [254] series] both as to helpfulness and as for aid to others. Then, the study of the phenomena in its relationships to individuals, as to the various phases or characters of information that is uplifting, helpful, hopeful or beneficial, and in the surety of credence given - THIS [is] the manner in which to prepare self for associations with the work and individuals whom the body-mind may contact; OR the body MAY throw self as a whole INTO the work, giving whole time, whole attention to the study, the distribution of, the handling of portions of same. That [should be] dependent upon the reaction of self TO the work itself. See?
    Now that brings questions, to be sure, in the mind of the body - but, as application is made to the body, many are the phases or the manners of studying. Well were individual cases of individual natures and characters LISTED, as well as rates, routes, or such, and as to HOW individuals or groups arrived AT their receiving of benefits THROUGH contact or association WITH the work itself - see?
11. (Q) What shall I read and study in addition to my present studies to better prepare and acquaint myself with the [Edgar Cayce] work?
    (A) There is not a better than the Scripture as a whole, and the INFORMATION given itself. [through the rdgs.]
12. (Q) Will my part in the [Edgar Cayce] work be in Norfolk or elsewhere? [See 311-5, Par. 8-A.]
    (A) Norfolk AND elsewhere.
13. (Q) When [Edgar Cayce is] giving a reading, do the thoughts come from your [his] subliminal self, from a discarnate entity or entities, or from what source is the information derived?
    (A) That [is] dependent upon the individual SEEKING the information, and may be by the desire of the individual made to APPEAR or be from either or ANY of the sources; that is, as is seen in this particular instance, or case [311-3], the channel here is a manner or means of the source as of the universal, or of that phase or portion of students IN the universal plane, as it may ALSO be of any COSMIC force, or an individual disincarnate force CAPABLE of ATTUNING to those channels - or that ATTUNEMENT which ALLOWS an intercourse of expressions with the desire of one seeking same - see? As may be given here, there have been those interests of this individual entity in the study of various forms of OCCULT or MYSTIC influences. An influence of the study of any particular system creates a SPIRIT of that force, partaking of all that would add TO that particular interest - as may be termed the "Spirit of America", that which includes all that is disincarnate or incarnate that is to the upbuilding, to the development OF that force itself in SPIRIT form, and MAY be had by one seeking same, as a whole or any portion thereof. Or, as in the study of those that the body mental itself has studied. Now, there may be obtained such as is the spirit of Buddha, or Buddhism in its CRYSTALLIZED form, or as it touches upon any of the various characterizations that have incarnated into the earth's plane, or any in the Zoroastrian - which the entity or body has made a study of rather close in some form. THESE may be had from individual or from that as a WHOLE itself - see? This is deep, yes - but this IS the FORMATION in which one in THIS position, as THIS body, MAY understand. Few would!
14. (Q) What incarnations have I had other than those given in my life between the Egyptian period [10,500 B.C.?] and the present?
    (A) Those as have been given in the EARTH'S plane are of the earth that made for either development or retarding of. Others the entity, as an entity, has entered the earth's plane only for a period of presenting self THROUGH the plane to enter in some OTHER - as of Venus, Jupiter, Uranus - HERE the entity has entered, but as to keeping in the solar forces of this particular solar force or system, the earth enters as an interchange, as does Saturn, for that of an earth's remoulding. These may be given from other directions or channels, as would be indicated by both the astrological and the numerological influence.
15. (Q) What is the present name of the section of India in which I lived as outlined in my life reading, and what was the period of time? [See 311-1.]
    (A) That period when the SECOND development of that as has been termed as civilization, or an ATTEMPT of a local people or peoples to RAISE THEIR individual standards to or toward AN IDEAL! That's true civilization, to be sure! In the place, that now known as Astabuld [?] [Agra Cawnpore?], or that period just before the prophet or seer or sage that was called, or known as Asdod [Ashdod?], the beginner of that that became LATER as the sage of trees; [See Ex. 34:13.] [See 311-3, Par. R4.] or in years, in periods, as measured in years as NOW, twenty THOUSAND years before the CHALDEAN message, or flood [10,000 B.C.?], see?
16. (Q) What is the present name of the section of America in which I lived as outlined in the life reading and what was the period of time? [See 311-1.]
    (A) That in the middle Atlantic [Middle Atlantic States?], and the period in the caledon [?] [calendarium - kalendae?] of 1607 to 1682. [See 311-10, Par. 39-A.]
17. (Q) What causes changes in sex and why do some change, others not?
    (A) That is from the SPIRITUAL desire. Now - DESIRE may be given in a varied form or manner, and in some conditions appear only as wish, or as an expression of a SENSING from within. In this there is seen as to HOW that the desire of an individual would BRING them in under the environ of male or female, while one may appear in the earth as male or female as a regular or at intervals, according to the DEVELOPMENT. In the same SPHERE - that is, in other planets there may be an entirely different sex, BY the desire or that builded, see?
18. (Q) Are the principles of life and living by the Rosicrucian order in general true and correct?
    (A) In general correct, very good. There are variations as to the development OF the individual, for ALL become sons of the first creative energy or force, and are individual in their aspects and capable of BEING the whole, yet not the whole - see?
19. (Q) How explain Richard Ingalese statement that sex changes with each incarnation?
    (A) This [is] NOT true. As has been given, the sex change is more from desire than from PHYSICAL earth incarnation's influence - see? We are through for the present.
