This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of November, 1939, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. [228], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. Now as we find, in some general ways conditions have been on the improve. But the acute condition, that has arisen by the engorgement or plethora in the colon area, produces a pressure that makes for a greater disturbance in the nerve forces; thus taxing the system in relation to the organs of the pelvis.
4. Thus there is produced an acute condition, and a general strain, upon the system.
5. In the present, then, as we find:
6. We would first have a colonic irrigation. This should NOT be attempted to be given too much at once; only, of course, with a Fountain Syringe. The water would be body-temperature, and to each quart add a heaping teaspoonful of salt and a level teaspoonful of soda. After the first full quart, or preferably two quarts, then rinse the fountain and use - in the last water - two tablespoonsful of Glyco-Thymoline to the quart.
7. Over the area of the right and left abdomen we would apply two or three or four thicknesses of flannel spread with an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted, or liquified), Turpentine and Camphor. Then put an electric pad over same.
8. Also we would use the douches again, that have been heretofore indicated.
9. As an aid to better eliminations, we would take Serutan. This we would keep up regularly; a teaspoonful, in a little water or mixed in the cereal, or mixed just in warm milk, taken at least two or three times each day, for at least a month. Then leave off for a few days, and then take again. For this body, this will be found to produce the nearer normal eliminations; thus eradicating a great deal of the disturbance that has been a portion of the more recent reactions by lack of proper eliminations.

11. (Q) Should vibrator be used; how and when?
    (A) The vibrator is well to be used every other evening, and the sponge applicator used preferably over the areas from about the middle of the back or spine TOWARDS the head, more than on the lower portion; though on the frontal portion of the body, if it is given gently across the upper and lower portion of the abdomen it will be helpful.
12. (Q) Should violet ray be used; how and when?
    (A) We would not use the violet ray until less of the disturbances are indicated through the alimentary canal; and then it would be used principally over the lower portions of the body, - from the 9th dorsal down, and extending along the limbs, - it would be most helpful.
13. (Q) Should Tonicin be used; in what quantities, when and for how long?
    (A) Not unless there becomes more of a disturbance through the regular eliminations through the organs of the pelvis. And these disturbances should correct themselves with the applications as indicated. But if it becomes necessary, take the small doses of the Tonicin, - for sufficient period to correct the disturbance, - or until the next regular Period.
14. (Q) Under what circumstances should Zilatone be taken?
    (A) Now, as we have indicated, the conditions in the body would indicate that the SERUTAN is much better for the body than the Zilatone, or is that character of eliminations needed. Hence we would leave off the Zilatone; and should it become necessary (that is, because of lack of eliminations daily) use the colon irrigation, or the high enemas, preferably.
15. (Q) What caused nettlerash (which has since disappeared)?
    (A) The engorging of the system and the accumulation of poisons from lack of proper eliminations.
    Do as has been indicated, and we will find better forces for this body of [313].
16. (Q) What is condition of uterus?
    (A) Inflammation to some extent, of course, owing to the recent disturbances through the whole of the nerve system, as well as the poisons or accumulations through the LACK of proper eliminations. As indicated, these conditions should adjust themselves, with the gained strength and vitality.
17. (Q) What is condition of intestines?
    (A) As indicated, the engorgement in those areas, that has caused the acute pain, cutting off the eliminations through the alimentary canal; thus causing through the circulatory forces the irritations as a rash, as well as increasing the activities through the organs of the pelvis.
18. (Q) What diet should be beneficial?
    (A) That carrying those foods that are body-building. Not that it should do this, or do that, other than as has been indicated. The Do's and the Don't's, follow. Keep away from too much starches, - these were indicated as a partial cause of this condition - which is almost an impaction, see?
19. (Q) Any other advice at this time?
    (A) Keep in those directions as we have indicated, and we will find better forces for this body.
