5/03/33 EC's letter: I was very glad to have yours of the
27th.
Now, in reference to the diet, Mr. [
315], this is a thing
that is very flexible; that is, during the specific period
when you are following out these lines of suggestions, it
would be well to adhere rather closely to the diet given.
Then, as conditions gradually correct themselves you can
change about, back and forth a little bit, until you can know
just how to watch yourself and get the best response.
Oftentimes when we follow one specific diet for such a long
period, unless we can keep a very well BALANCED diet, we
create an excess of elements or we become lacking in
something - so that there is an unbalancing.
Of course, if it is impossible for you to get the osteopathic
treatments, you may be able to get the chiropractic
treatments GIVEN in such a manner as to be helpful. I'm sure
the chiropractor will tell you that the two treatments are
NOT exactly alike; and, of course, each school of treatments
would have you believe it is the only one - which isn't true
at all! Some cases will respond better to chiropractic
treatments and some better to osteopathic treatments; while
some will respond better to medicines than to either of
these. But there is a difference in every one of the modes
of treatment. If the chiropractor will adhere to the
suggestions given, he may do very well - but if he does he
will be giving you an osteopathic treatment instead of a
chiropractic one! He CAN do it, if he will!
When you take the AL-CAROID, it is necessary only for the
perfecting of digestion in you system. So, it may not always
be necessary. When you do not feel the gas or that fullness
arising after eating, leave it off. Just use a little bit
of consistency along with the suggestions given, and I think
you'll find it will work alright.
I do not think your questions show an ignorance on your part,
but rather a desire to be very sure about what you are doing.
I hope the above explanation is satisfactory, and I assure
you that it is our desire to give any further information
that we may from time to time, wherever you feel that we may
help.
Trusting you are feeling a lot better, and that you will let
us hear from you, I am
Sincerely,
Edgar Cayce [EC:GD]

suggestions given in my physical rdg. to the best of my
