4/17/33 Letter: "It is very difficult for me to walk more
than a dozen blocks, or to attend to my household duties
without frequently resting. Also I have difficulty retaining
my urine, and must go too often, even getting up during the
night once or twice.
"The pain when walking or standing is low down in my back,
and pressure in the pelvic cavity. After the birth of my
second child (about twenty-three years ago) I went under a
major operation for misplaced womb, and laceration of same.
Have never felt entirely well since then, and during the last
two years am more troubled.
"I do my own housework and really must be a good deal on my
feet, and am most anxious to obtain relief if possible."
REPORTS
4/27/33 "Your health rdg. for me was rec'd last night,
and I wish to thank you very much. I shall try to carry out
the treatments accurately, and am quite prepared to persist
until a cure has been effected...
"Can you perhaps recommend a woman osteopath whom I could
go to for the treatments, here in N.Y.?
"Mr. [
373] and I both feel that it is a very convincing
reading, and are full of encouragement over the benefit
we feel I will receive from it."
5/03/33 EC referred her to Grace Berger, D.O.
6/07/33 "Dr. Frank P. Dobbins is giving me two treatments a
week, and I am attending to the home treatment faithfully.
It seemed very slow at first but now I do feel better and
am much encouraged for a final cure."
She requested
362-1 [Life Rdg.] for her son.
7/06/33 She requested
373-1, a Life Rdg. for her husband.
1/12/34 Dr. Frank P. Dobbins' ltr.: "Mrs. [
320] was in the
office
1/09/34. She is feeling very much improved. The
pelvis has been brought in line, giving her relief from
the bad back. The feet are no longer giving her trouble.
There is a reduction in weight [174 to 126] which has
resulted in very much more energy. The bladder symptoms
have not subsided and in view of the lacerations and
prolapsus of the uterus I do not believe will without using
tampons. I have urged her to have a check reading."
2/17/34 EC's ltr. to Dr. Dobbins: "I saw Mrs. [
320]. She
is certainly very loud in praise of you and your abilities."
5/17/34 Husband [
373]'s ltr.: "Mrs. [
320] developed a
serious case of asthma and other complications while we were
on vacation in Cuba. However, now being back over a week,
everything seems to have subsided and she is well again."
