To 1/2 gallon distilled water, add Wild Cherry Bark 8 ounces.
Reduce by simmering to 1/2 the quantity. Strain. Then add
4 ounces of sugar and reduce again to 1/2 the quantity.
To this we would add:
Tincture Valerian.....................1 ounce,
Elixir Calisaya.....................1/2 ounce,
Iodide Potassium.....................20 grains,
Bromide Potassium....................24 grains,
Tincture Capsici......................1 minim,
Oil of Sassafras......................2 minims.
Shake solution well to-gether before dose is taken, which
should be half teaspoonful in water at least 4 times each
day, preferably before the meals and upon retiring.
Well, too, that the body use the inhalant as has been given,
prepared afresh. This will prevent the lungs, bronchials,
larynx, nasal channels and cavities from taking on any of
excretions that would prove detrimental with colds and
congestion - acting as the clarifier, or as an antidote,
and strengthening the pulmonary circulation.
Well that an [osteopathic] adjustment or two be taken to
relax the body. See that the intestinal tract is kept open.
Not too much of a laxative taken, and let this be the
laxative of that nature that is non-acid. Well that alkaline
Petrolagar or Oil, white oils, or some properties of this
nature be used.
This we would find would give that as necessary for
correction of conditions at the present time.
Be careful in diet. Eat that as nutritious foods, rather
than highly seasoned foods. Wines and mild stimulants well
for the body. Champagne, sauterne, or any of those
stimulants that aid the kidneys in functioning without
irritation to the intestinal system.
Do as given.
We are through for the present.
