3/29/32 "Well, here I am up again after one terrible week of
aggravation and real illness. If [Son [
257]] had been here
[in the City] he would have gotten the doctor and had me all
over the City again. This way I followed your reading and
controlled myself. As I always do, I am telling you. Please
do not mention this to him, as I do not want to give him any
more troubles than he has. He wanted me to move and I just,
for once, could not do as he wanted me to. My word is my
bond and I did not think it necessary to do so, as I showed
him how to manage, but he wanted to appease his own anger and
I would have been the goat. I am too old to take on new
tricks and I am not looking for revenge. I am willing to
help him and to rent out the apartment furnished to help him,
but whatever I do must be right. It all turned out as I said
and one renting agent spoke of us in the finest of terms and
most lovingly of me. Judge, it really was not necessary for
me to be pulled about so, but that is youth. As you know it
affects my health and I really was fine. Please, Judge, take
a reading. Do not mention it to anyone. Send it to me. As
I told you before, when I am ready I will tell all about my
cure which I hope will be soon, but to be pulled about just
now, as [
257] will do, as he will get worried and I do not
want to add to his worries as I know that you can help me.
Ask about my health. Shall I have pad taken off of right
breast? If not, what shall be done to dry the small place
just coming? Shall I move over to [Daughter [
459]'s] house
when lease expires or remain in New York?
"You see why I do not want anyone to get the reading. I
don't want to worry them until I must and I do not think it
necessary to do that unless the reading says so. Have no one
present but necessary ones and God bless you and keep you
well. I get panicky, as you expressed it rightfully, but I
keep a clear understanding and I am not easily turned from a
good purpose. I have so many to guide, but God and my good
forces guide me, so why worry? Love to you all, Mother
[
325]."
