This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of October, 1941, in accordance with request made by Mr. [341], Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [341] and wife [1505].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the entities [1505], born July 25, 1905, Stovall, N.C. and [341], born March 16, 1907 in Bowling Green, Ky., both now present in this room. These entities seek at this time mental and spiritual guidance which will aid them in living and working successfully together. If there are urges from past incarnations which have not been given please explain them now, indicating how such urges may be directed for the best interests of all concerned. You will answer the questions which have been prepared.
2. EC: Yes, we are given the records here of these entities.
3. As has been indicated, their associations in China are those that have the greater influence so far as the material activities are concerned in the present.
4. The mental status of each comes through other periods where there were those activities from which there has come the awareness of each, that has brought an influence of a mental nature in the present.
5. As to the meeting of same, and making the proper applications in the present, - in the unison of truth must and should be the application, if each would make that contribution to the welfare of the other, for the greater development spiritually, mentally and materially in the present.
6. It has indicated that each, - from material associations in the past, from abilities of each in the present, - may be a complement to the other.
7. Let the ideals and the principals of each be one. Their manner of approach, their manner of thought need not necessarily be the same, but the purpose, the desire, the hopes, the welfare of each should be as is indicated in such a union, one for the other. Each should be ever mindful as to the welfare of that as may be for the glorifying of the truth, beauty, love, hope, self-sacrifice in their relationships not only to one another but to their problems, their joys, their sorrows, their blesssigns, their downsittings. All of these, let them be with that attitude as of a helpmeet one to the other.
8. This then will bring - as we have indicated oft - the closer walk with Him, who is the truth, the light, the hope of the world.
9. In this manner may there come to thee that blessing, that hope, that assurance of a life, of an experience that may bring a constant well of joy, of happiness.
10. Not that there will not be periods of disturbance, but let it always be from the other - not from self. Do not both get angry at the same time. This ye can control, if ye walk with Him.
11. Let thy ideal, then, be as it was in the days of old; that ye bring one another closer, closer to that spirit of truth, of love, of life, that is the hope, that is the way that each may contribute to the other that which is pleasing in His sight.

13. (Q) Does our marriage and desire for children provide a possible outlet for expression of any particular entity or type of entity? If this may be given, please explain fully.
    (A) This is most desireable.
    As has been indicated, the purpose, the desire, the hope of each in the preparations of the body and the mind for such an advent as the entrance of a soul, a spirit into the earth, must be from mutual desire of each.
    This should be that purpose, - to each fulfil that purpose the divine influence, God, has for thee. Then let it come as the fulfilling of that hope, that desire, that purpose. Thus the type soul will be given thee that is in keeping with thy abilities to contribute to mankind, to the world, the channel for a soul needed in the present.
14. (Q) Explain in detail what mental, physical and spiritual preparations we may make in order that our first child may have advantage of the best influences from all sources which our indivdual development and union of purposes may provide.
    (A) Let thy mind, thy body, then be kept as a continuous source of influence for the purpose that God through the Christ may have with thee. For He knoweth thee by name. He WILL give that work, that purpose thou hast to do now. The understanding comes in prayer, in meditation, in purpose, in hope, in LIVING. Be not merely an outward but an inward expression of that thou would have the spirit of truth be with thee. For, as ye treat thy fellow man day by day, so ye do unto thy Lord, thy God, thy Christ.
15. (Q) Can and should we pray for, desire and in any way try to make it possible for the first child to be a boy? If this should be done please explain in detail just what we should do, physically, mentally and spiritually.
    (A) Let this be in HIS keeping. Choose, rather, to be the channel; and let thy prayer be:
    LORD, HAVE THY WAY WITH US.
    This will bring the purposes, the activities, the BEST in each to that desire that He may walk, He may talk, He may have His way with thee.
    Let that mind ever be in thee as was in Him, the Christ: "Lord, use Thou me - my body, my mind, my purpose - as a channel of blessings to others."
    Materially, - make preparations, provisions, now, for the future - by the daily care for providing for body, mind, soul. Live as ye would have thy son, thy daughter live.
    This will bring the consciousness the more oft of His purpose with thee.
