12/12/33 [
355] and I have talked many times how we might best
use the information received through you for the most
practical benefit to ourselves personally, to our business,
and to the organization. We have figured out a plan which we
would like to talk over with you and perhaps when you are
well enough you can get a reading to find whether or not we
are on the right track.
Our plan is to send you our problems in detail with
questions, the answers to which will guide us in the proper
handling and solution of these problems. Then we will follow
the directions given by you. As each problem is completed
through the assistance given by the readings, it is our
intention to contribute to the association a percentage
of the income received from these problems. Written down,
this sounds very much more commercial and material than when
we discussed the idea. But we feel that you can read between
the lines and understand that what we really want to do is to
apply the information practically to help ourselves and
through this, encourage others to realize the definite
benefit of such work and information in their everyday
lives and business. Naturally we do feel that as we increase
our business and our income through this aid that a certain
part of all we receive this way, should be turned back to the
Association for its support and further development.
We are enclosing the explanation and questions on one
problem which we have had presented to us. We thank you very
much for all you have done for us and we do hope that the
progress made during this recent trip will continue and prove
more and more satisfactory.
Explanation of Problem:
A Mr. Zane came in Saturday morning, with a problem dealing
with raw silk thread as it is received from Japan. He has
had the Japanese exporters reel and wind THREE threads of raw
silk into one thread, making a total thread size or denier
of 60/66. When he received this yarn and had it woven into
a fabric, the result was a fabric which was too wiry and
stiff for practical use.
The problems he brought us is to find some way of spreading
these 3 threads to make a softer, finer fabric. If this
could be done, then it would eliminate considerable cost in
spinning and throwing of raw silk and would eliminate also
any extra duty. In order to solve this problem, there are
several things we must know.
1. Is the solution of the problem in mechanical devices or is
it a problem in dyeing and finishing?
2. If it is mechanical, what is the device which will open
the one thread and separate it into 3 parts, and in which
stage of manufacture must this be done?
3. Is there already existing equipment which can take care
of this? If so, who makes it? If it requires a new device,
please give directions for making it and inform us what man
or firm will cooperate in making it?
4. If the answer lies in the dyeing and finishing processes,
what should the treatment be and at what stage in the process
shall it begin?
5. What formulae should be used? Are these already made and
if so, from whom can we buy them? If new formulae are to be
used, please give us the exact formulae with proportions of
constituents and the method of application?
6. What can we do in the final pressing of the fabric to
prevent exorbitant creping of the cloth?
7. Having been treated to spread these 3 threads, is any
special handling required in the weaving and subsequent
processes?
8. Regarding the material side of this problem from a
financial standpoint - how can it best be presented and to
whom?
9. Is there any other advice or guidance?
12/19/33 Wire: "[Capt. [
425]] missing since 5 p.m. Sat.
All friends suspect foul play. Will you help us find him.
Immediate action necessary."
12/19/33 EC's reply: "Circumstances make it impossible to
do anything before Fri. or Sat. Let us hear again." [See
425-1 Reports.]
12/22/33 EC wrote that he would try to make her appointment
in Jan. to answer her business questions.
12/27/33 "You have probably seen [
355] and heard the latest
news from her... As for business, well if the Lord had not
watched me pretty closely the past few days I am afraid I
might have taken a 'way out.' I never felt so like it in my
life. I know it is all my fault, but I certainly do contrive
to get into the worst messes you ever saw. I am somewhat
rested now and am feeling some better and I am constantly
praying for guidance out of my present financial mess.
"Are you coming up here next month? I sure hope so. Somehow
I feel that Jan. will turn the tables for all of us and also
I believe it to be a very good month for the Work."
GD's note: Sometime in 1935 Mr. [
333] told us that Miss
[
346] had said to him that she was no longer interested
in "psychics".
11/10/43 She wrote that she had married a 45 yr. old Army
Sgt. on
10/10/42 and wished advice for both of them: "For
months I have tried to help him find himself and find his own
rhythm of living... It seems to me I want more than anything
else in the world for my husband to find his 'niche' in life
and for us TOGETHER to begin to live a mutual, constructive,
happy, harmonious life of service... He is now stationed in
New Mexico... For over 2 yrs. I've been in Gov.'t Service
in the office of ... I am very desirous of making a change
which will be beneficial and permit the use of more
constructive and active use of whatever abilities I may
have... Is there any immediate possibility of an easing up
of the financial strain either through increased earnings or
with help from my husband?"
10/07/52 GD's note: Both she and her husband are listed in
the D.C. phone book at the same address.
8/29/58 She wrote that she had just read the book MANY
MANSIONS by Gina Cerminara and wanted a copy of her Life Rdg.
[346-1]. A copy was sent to her.
12/02/58 She phoned GD: "Your letter warmed my heart. I've
been trying to get a chance to 'write it all out' - what has
happened to me through the years. I must say this, that my
Life Rdg. [
346-1] is really terrific - how everything has
worked out as Mr. Cayce said, for my spiritual unfoldment.
[See her comments about Miss [
355] and Major [
425] under
355-1 Reports and
425-1 Reports.] ...Soon I hope to visit
you in Virginia Beach and tell you all the details of the
years between."
