This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 1st day of September, 1933, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [348], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [348].
2. As we find, the general conditions in the system are reacting sometimes very good; at other times there is the tendency for there to be an unusual amount of contraction. And the muscular forces in the lumbar and sacral area, especially in the left portion, give distresses to the body.
3. We would, then, change somewhat the manner of application and the manner of the diet.
4. We would use more of the heat applications, and a deep vibration with the ball or the harder applicator of the electrically driven vibrator - especially so in the lower lumbar area and in the portion of the hip joint where there is the muscular contraction.
5. After the application of the vibrator (when it is well worked up, fifteen to twenty minutes treatment to these particular portions and then the general system, see), apply a saturated solution of Epsom Salts. This may be done daily, or every other day, dependent upon the reactions to the system.
6. We would continue to occasionally use the castor oil packs to make the proper reaction of the liver and the glands of the system as related to the assimilating system.
7. We would reduce the amount of starch. We would add a little, or some portions, of carbohydrates; preferably that found in pastry that is either built from saccharin base or from beet sugar.

9. (Q) What reactions would be expected from the salts packs?
   (A) Relieve this strain, dissolving those crystallizations of the active forces of the muscular contraction in movement!
   These should be over the hip portion; not over the portion that affects the kidneys, but the lower portion of the lumbar - see - and the hip portion.
10. (Q) Should calves of legs be vibrated?
    (A) All the muscular forces, and this includes the calves of the legs! The sciatic nerve - follow that!
11. (Q) Would a semi-milk diet, drinking two quarts whole milk a day, be helpful? [For the incipient stomach ulcer condition?]
    (A) If it had been we would have given it, if we had seen it from here! This is the compound - This is the trouble with a whole milk diet. It has been suggested to the body by one supposed to know dietetics, but the casein content hasn't been considered! Try it one day and watch the kidneys! That's a good test!
12. (Q) What may be done to correct the catarrhal condition in throat and nose?
    (A) Eliminate poisons from the system, and create a normal lymph circulation! If relief is desired for those specific conditions that arise, use Lavoris as a gargle and spray; to be sure, reducing same with water when used as a spray. This would be only for immediate uses, of course, when the condition arises. The causes, as we have given, are the poisons, and when these are removed from the system - and the liver and the spleen and the kidneys acting normally, such effects will be eliminated.
13. (Q) Should the castor oil packs be over the lumbar or over the hip?
    (A) Neither one. Should be over the liver.
14. (Q) How long should the ultra-violet heat be applied?
    (A) Five to fifteen minutes.
