To about a quart of water put about these quantities:
Oil of Eucalyptus.................10 drops,
Rectified Creosote.................2 drops,
Compound Tincture of Benzoin......10 drops,
Oil of Turp........................3 drops.
Let the steam from this, as in a croup cup of the like, or
under a sheet, be inhaled by the body - both through the
nostrils and in the mouth - or as ordinary breathing. Repeat
this if necessary for the relief of the conditions.
These as we find should bring better conditions.
As we find, it is a very severe condition - through
congestion; but if these suggestions are adhered to - keeping
the body quiet - we should within forty-eight hours be free
from much of the disturbance.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Have recent osteopathic administrations been successful?
(A) Depends upon what they've been successful for! WITHOUT
THESE we would have had a very bad case of PNEUMONIA -
lobular!
(Q) Should I drink wine or grape juice?
(A) Drink grape juice at these times, but very little of
wine until there is strength regained and the congestion has
been removed.
(Q) Any further advice?
(A) Do these things for the body, as we find in the present.
Or if the body would so DESIRE, it might go entirely upon
fresh grape juice and grapes as a diet for the next
forty-eight hours. But in THAT case we would eat a LOT
of 'em!
Ordinarily - wine may be taken as a food in the late
afternoon, or before dinner. This should be at least half an
hour to an hour, though, before the meal; and as a food, not
as a drink.
We are through for the present.
