This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of November, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [357], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: [357]. Yes, we have the body here, [357].
3. As we find, the vitality, the muscular strength is low. There is not sufficient of oxidization or of oxygen, and hence the depressions as through the pulmonaries; though we do not find same involved other than lacking in the efficiency to purify the blood stream.
4. Thus a form of anemia occurs, by the poor assimilation and the general distresses as indicated over the system.
5. As we find, - we would take at least twelve osteopathic adjustments. These would necessarily be GENTLY given in the first; and stimulate the activity of the upper dorsal and cervical for a better PULMONARY circulation; that is, then, stimulate those segments or centers in those areas and along the muscular forces UPWARD, rather than gently downward as is the more often indicated.
6. Stimulate the dorsals from the 5th and 6th to the 10th and 11th, by a gentle releasing or RAISING of same.
7. At least twice each day we would take internally half to three-quarters of a teaspoonful of Knox Gelatin; this to be stirred in orange juice or a combination of orange juice and lemon, and taken. It is best that this stimulation from the Gelatin be taken mornings and evenings. And keep this up for at least three months!
8. And with this, as we have indicated, it is necessary that the red wind be taken regularly; or a little eggnog occasionally would be very good. But with the Gelatin taken as indicated, we would take the red wine regularly, - preferably in the evenings when first returning from activity; [late afternoon] or early in the evening, to stimulate - from the general drain on the system.
9. And don't leave off the inhalations as we have indicated, to purify the throat, the lungs, and to aid in reducing the disturbance through the nasal passages, and those conditions as have been indicated.
10. Be mindful that the eliminations are kept NOMINAL.
11. Use or eat those foods that are body and blood building. Hence, once or twice a week we would have broiled liver, broiled fish; and a great deal of beef that is well ROASTED, though this should not be TOO done but well cooked through, and not rare - and chew the meat but do not swallow same, - only the juices of same, see? This should be added to a general vegetable diet that is fully body building.
12. Of mornings have plenty of steel cut oats or the whole wheat cracked cereals, well cooked. These will add the vitamins and influences necessary.

14. (Q) Should I wear an abdominal support?
    (A) It would be very well.
15. (Q) What should be done to overcome pressure in head?
    (A) Remove those pressures as produced in the cerebrospinal system, through the manners indicated.
16. (Q) Please advise what hobby I should take up?
    (A) Photography.
17. (Q) Please give an affirmation that will help me at this time.
    (A) MERCIFUL FATHER! REMEMBER NOW THY SERVANT. IN EARNESTNESS I SEEK THOSE PROMISES AS MADE THROUGH JESUS, THY CHRIST, THY SON. GIVE ME THAT STRENGTH OF PURPOSE, IN MIND AND BODY, TO FULFILL THAT THOU WOULD HAVE ME DO IN THIS EXPERIENCE. BLESS THE EFFORTS IN THY NAME, AND MAY I BE A CHANNEL OF BLESSINGS TO OTHERS - ALWAYS!

BACKGROUND

2. 11/01/39 Friend Miss [307] phoned questions, saying [357] is in bad shape, hasn't been to work for a month. Her questions included: "Give cause and relief of nervous condition. Please give a diet that will agree with my body. What causes weakness and lack of interest, and how may it be overcome. Should I drink wine or eggnog? Should I continue to inhale the Apple Brandy fumes?"

REPORTS

1. 1/08/40 She had rdg. for her aunt, Mrs. [2074].
2. 5/16/40 She reported on rdg. for her sister, Miss [2186].
3. In the summers she did volunteer work for A.R.E. on the rdgs., getting reports, etc.
4. 3/26/41 She obtained 2472-1 for her father.
5. 6/11/42 She obtained 357-13, a Mental-Spiritual Rdg., also advising about health.
