8/09/33 EC's letter: "I don't know whether or not this IS
an explanation. I haven't studied it over sufficiently yet
to satisfy myself. It so happens, however, that the notes
made by the stenographer were destroyed, so that a comparison
is not possible. But if it is true as stated, as to the
fifth paragraph, it is the first instance where the
stenographer has left out anything - or that we have had our
attention, at least, called to it; though I am sure she,
as all of us, is not infallible. But I do know from
experience with possibly five hundred stenographers, that
she - our present one - has been the only one that we could
possibly rely on for the information to be written properly.
Then, I merely present this for your consideration. If you
feel that it is worth while to present it to Mr. and Mrs.
[...], that they consider giving it any consideration, why
know that we will be quite anxious to be of any service
possible. I believe, even from this, that there is a
possibility of the information in the reading being worth
while and worth considering in this particular case. I hope
they will be able to get the doctor who is in charge of the
case to consider it. We will be glad to give him the names
of many in all schools of practice, in many portions of the
country, who have had experience with this work, if he would
be interested in following the case according to the reading.
For, you can very well imagine that, in the thirty-three
years since we have been doing this work, there have been
quite a number in all fields of treatment who have found -
in their own experience - the Work very much worth while.
We will be anxious to hear from you."
[GD's note: We did not again hear from Mr. [
342] or [
367]'s
parents.]
