TEXT

1. EC: Yes - same place! [as for 255-9]
2. We have the body here. Now, we find the body is suffering from strains as have existed, that have WEAKENED the system considerable, and from poisons that come from some infections in teeth, that have been made acute by cold and congestion.
3. While the applications as are being made, or the adjustments, are WELL - and ORDINARILY these would RELIEVE the conditions entirely, and we would not CHANGE from these - but were the eliminations INCREASED the conditions would be relieved more quickly; for there is the tendency, through congestion, towards the lack of eliminations through the respiratory system, alimentary canal, and kidneys. While the kidneys show some distress from the over amount of poisons, these are active in a manner that indicates IRRITATION rather than ORGANIC trouble; rather functional.
4. Then, increase the eliminations - increase the functioning of the liver or the hepatic circulation. Then as SOON as possible have those corrections made as will be found necessary with the teeth, and those POISONS as are being loosed in the system there. These will need local attention, and some will need a good deal of treatment or removal. These may be found by the local attention.
5. Specifically, in the present, we would take this as properties to produce a higher elimination:
6. Syrup of Figs in a NORMAL dose, to act with the gastric juices of the system and to increase the flow through the alimentary canal.
7. When the pains in limbs and back are so severe, application of hot packs of coarse salt will be most beneficial. We would bathe the portions, before applying the salt, with a very STRONG solution of plain baking soda and water - see?
8. Do that. We will find the better conditions for this body. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) What foods should he have?
   (A) Those that tend to keep the eliminations high, or that are laxative in their nature WITHOUT PRODUCING too great a strain ON system; that is, reducing the vitality, but those of the citrous fruits, particularly, for a day or two would be well, ALTERNATED by those that are extra NOURISHING without sugars in same, or those that produce too high a content of alcoholic influence THROUGH their digestion. The alcoholic content is NECESSARY, but do not let it become too high - as would be from such as too much of sweets that would be mingled with meats.
10. That is all the questions regarding this body.
11. We are through with this reading.

BACKGROUND

1. See 378-1 on 5/01/30.
2. 12/09/31 Early A.M. his wife phoned saying Mr. [378] was not feeling well [lumbago?], asking that he be given a Ck. Physical Rdg. if possible right after her Rdg. 255-9 which was set for this morning, and to please ask about Mr. [378]'s diet.

REPORTS

1. 12/13/31 "I have been in misery all week. That so-called attack of Lumbago was practically gone when I suddenly developed terrible pains in my left leg, so that I was unable to walk or even stand.
"Now we know that all the trouble comes from my teeth and to be quite honest, I always felt that I should have had them looked after long ago, but I was always too busy trying to help getting orders. Now I must be punished for my neglect and rightly so, therefore, I will not complain and take my medicine like a good boy.
"I expect to be able to limp to the office to-morrow - then go to my dentist for the first appt. and I hope he will put me back again on my feet in short order."
2. See subsequent Business Rdgs.
3. 1/05/33 He obtained his next Ck. Physical Rdg., 378-11.
