This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of May, 1934, in accordance with request made by daughter, Miss [275], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis, L. B. and Hugh Lynn Cayce.

TEXT

1. GC: You will, in the light of Divine guidance, aid in assisting the soul of [378], to seek to do that which is best and in keeping with that his Maker would have his soul WILL to do at this time.
2. EC: (In undertone: "Lot of water about the body this morning!")
3. Let thy inner self, the promptings of that thou knowest, be thy guide; as thou wilt put into practice that which is conscious within thee as to the directions thy Lord and Master would have thee take, so wilt thou be strengthened in Him.
4. For, as the application of that which is conscious in every soul is to put into USE, so does the strength and power of the soul grow.
5. As the development in body is kept in accord by the coordination of the factors that manifest themselves in growth, so is THIS growth in the awareness - as the soul uses that of which it becomes aware - making for the growth in the knowledge and power that comes through the USE of that thou knowest to do.
6. Let His Spirit rule thee. Thou has put thy trust in Him. Be not afraid, for He will bear thee up as ye show forth in thine ways, in the use of that thou knowest, that He will be very near unto thee.
7. Know that He is nigh. Know that He will direct.
8. Falter not; but keep the faith.
9. We are through.

BACKGROUND

1. See 378-29 on 5/02/34 in which help is being attempted for Mr. [378] who disappeared from his home on 4/18/34 leaving a suicide note.

REPORTS

1. During period of waking EC; MD saw figures just above the head of the sleeper, which disappeared and into their place appearing a giant eye; which vanished as suddenly; then a bright curved spark for an instant in the place of that (at least, that was the impression).
GC said she thought she saw an arm wave over the body of Edgar Cayce; at first thought it was Gladys, then thought it might have been light on her glasses - trying to reason it away. The thought came to her that it might have been Mr. [378] rowing, as much water was indicated about the body in the reading.
2. See 378-31 on 5/04/34.
