8/05/33 Letter from her father [
2903]: "I'm writing you about
my daughter [
386] who has hardly been real well since she was
a baby, having had scarlet fever, diphtheria, adenoid
operation, sinus trouble, etc., all of which has made her
timid and sensitive and melancholy.
"Within the last week she at times has had hallucinations.
[
760] has been here with us and will enclose a letter with
this. The doctor here at ... Hospital has gone over her for
about a week and finds nothing physically wrong but seems to
think it is rather mental.
"I would appreciate it if you would give me a reading on her,
for from what you have done for others I feel sure you can
find the seat of her trouble and that which is necessary to
correct same.
"As she is not strong physically she usually stays in bed
until ten a.m., so a reading any morning would find her at
home ... Ave."
8/05/33 letter from her aunt [
760]: "Brother [
2903] and wife
sent for me, feeling I might be of some help to them and
[
386] in her pitiful condition. I say pitiful, for to me a
sick mind is the most pitiful of all afflictions. During the
past week she has been under the observation of the best
doctor here, making all sorts of tests, etc., and his report
was he could find nothing wrong with her but her mind,
[Dementia Praecox - see
386-3 Reports] saying she must not be
left alone to brood... As I told her parents there is bound
to be a cause, and until that is removed or treated she is
not going to get any better, and there is only one way to get
the absolute truth and facts and that is through you. So
they are writing you now. She is so despondent and has
delusions only at times... I know the first readings are
always thorough and definite, but please let one question be
(unless given without question) where is best for her to go
for a change and what best could or should she do to employ
her mind. Her eyes are weak and she can use them little at a
time. She has sinus trouble, hayfever. Has had two
operations first when a child for adenoids and tonsils, which
she says she has never gotten over, the other a lump in one
breast, all without a general anesthetic, which I think has
just shattered her nervous system..."
REPORTS
8/25/33 Cousin [
419]'s letter: "They haven't decided yet
about bringing [
386] to the Beach but will know in a few
days. They have to get her in the right frame of mind before
they can put the question to her about whether she will
follow out the treatments."
8/27/43 Father [
2903]'s ltr.: "[
386] said she would like to
go up there and follow out your rdg...when I know what you
have done for [
538] and [
1103] and the others, I feel sure
you will have the same success with [
386]."
