This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of October, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [416], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [416]; this we have had before.
2. First in the physical forces of the body, we would give some warnings as respecting the inclinations; especially at this season for the body, towards the acidity through the system; that, with those inclinations for pressures upon the sympathetic and the auditory or sensory centers, there would not be the disturbing conditions that these would tend to make.
3. For it allows not only that as produces pressures in the areas but is tending to clog the system.
4. Hence we would find that the citrus fruits would be well to take ONLY of mornings especially; this until the system is alkalized.
5. And in addition to same it would be well to take for a few periods or days the Eno Salt; this taken of morning, of course, before the citrus fruits are taken.
6. Of course, a little coffee or toast may be taken after the citrus fruits, but no other food at the morning meal for at least a week or ten days.
7. After the three or four days of taking the Eno Salt, leave it off for a day and then take a cathartic that will act upon the liver; such as Carter's Little Liver Pills. These carry a vegetable compound that would be well for this body. Take two of these at a dose, two days apart, and we will find much difference.
8. Then keep a better balance in the alkalinity of the system, and we will find better reactions through all portions of the system.

10. (Q) What may be done for the itchy feeling in ears?
    (A) Just as indicated, let's purify the system so that we will have a better circulation. And then the head and neck exercises, and the shoulders and arms, consistently taken, will be even better than manipulations or adjustments at the present time.
11. (Q) Any advice regarding my eyes?
    (A) Head and neck exercises and the general conditions are the better.
12. (Q) Should my glasses be changed any time soon?
    (A) Not if these are taken - the exercises and the eliminations.
13. (Q) Regarding Taylor property deal which I was unable to close: Did I slip up somewhere on this, or was it best that it happened so? If best, please explain.
    (A) In the affairs of individuals, as here with these, as was indicated, as was seen then this would have been a most excellent investment, as well as making for environs and surroundings that would have been most satisfactory. That circumstances or conditions arose that made or proved to make this an impractical condition in the experience, then accept same as being a providential reaction, which taken as such and not allowed to become as a stumblingblock may prove to be the better for the body.
    As we would find, we would rest on such for the time being; that is, until at least another season. Then we would find circumstances and conditions of such natures that these will make for, then, better conditions.
14. (Q) Is there some other place I should investigate that would be more suitable for my needs?
    (A) As we have indicated, leave as we find for the present - or for a season.
15. (Q) Would it be best to rent for another year? and what about the Roy Smith home in Oceana?
    (A) As we have indicated, leave for another season; and this, of course, would mean renting.
    The Roy Smith home would, as we find, be more desirable, especially through this coming season and through the spring and summer of the next year. Then by the next fall, or the next spring, there may be considerable changes to be made.
    But for a year, would be satisfactory.
16. (Q) Would this be too big a proposition for my father to handle?
    (A) Not as we find.
17. (Q) Please give me some information regarding my mother's home place, the Sandy Keith property, about ten miles from Raleigh, N.C., which is to be sold in the next few days. How can I develop this to a reasonable degree, if I buy same?
    (A) As we find, this would not be the better to attempt to develop same.
    It would be the better as we find for this to be allowed to go through those regular channels and let the proceeds or the activities of same become a part of that as may be used in other directions.
    This becomes, to be sure, a problem that involves others; but do not overburden self in such matters as to become a drain mentally and financially upon self.
18. (Q) I understand the Town of Virginia Beach is selling some real estate for taxes. Is there any particular piece of property I should investigate or invest in?
    (A) Some of those in the Shady Lawn (Shadow Lawn?) division are very well to be considered.
    This means for long time holding, but with developments that are indicated would become the better property - or the Pinewood.
19. (Q) Any advice concerning my lots on 54th Street?
    (A) Hold for the present.
20. (Q) In what profession or line of work should I encourage my unmarried brother, [D...]?
    (A) This had best be approached through the development of the individual brother in the material experiences in the earth, rather than that as of advice from self. [GD's note: The brother later married Miss [1709].]
21. (Q) Any advice concerning my job with the Norfolk-Southern?
    (A) As we find, this remains much in the manners as has been indicated heretofore. Hold tight.
22. (Q) How will the reorganization of the Railroad affect me?
    (A) Only as has been indicated heretofore, just as self has prepared and does prepare self for associations or connections that would make for advancement, it would mean eventually a greater aid than otherwise.
23. (Q) Would it be possible for me to get a better position?
    (A) As has just been indicated, this will mean in that direction.
24. (Q) I am anxious to get started in the Radio business as suggested in my Life Reading, or improve myself here. Please give me some advice concerning this.
    (A) As we find, it would be very well for the body to take on home study of the Radio activity. This would require, for the very best, then the WHOLE of the consideration not only from the purely mechanical - which would become rather tedious and troublesome to the entity in the beginning, but BEGIN through ANY of those associations or connections that develop an individual in this direction, and we will find step by step it would lead on.
25. (Q) This summer I attended the Roanoke Island celebration and had the feeling that I had been there. Why was my name, Wakefield, not on the list of settlers there? Please give me any information concerning this.
    (A) This would require to give the whole complete conditions as surrounded same. There are many, though they were in authority, that are not at present included in the lists that WERE given there at that time.
    THAT activity was a portion of the entity's experience in those environs; and as we find in the name Wakefield. [See 416-1.]
26. (Q) Any other advice for the body?
    (A) As we find, we would keep the constructive SPIRITUAL attitude and atmosphere about the entity. Not as goody- goody, but good for something.
