This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of September, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [417].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity. Now, we find here conditions as would not be in conformity to those conditions as have been termed astrological, for in the application of one's will these influences are often changed. So with this entity, for there have been developments in the present that would belie many of the influences as would be termed from the purely astrological influence. In entering, we find these influences in the present entity - and we will also give the changes; In the first, we find that of Mars and Jupiter, Venus and Uranus with influences Neptune and Mercury. The changes or alterations from these conditions would be rather those as are seen in Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus.
2. This may be - (this aside, please - this may be somewhat confusing to the entity, unless an explanation would be here given concerning same:
3. The influence in Mars is rather that of wrath, war, might, main, domineering, dominating; while MERCURY with JUPITER, SENSIBLE domineering, SENSIBLE usage of power, SENSIBLE usage of the forces in war or might. In the manner as given, these have been CHANGED by influences in the PRESENT experience, for the entity may be better able to understand when, will it but remember in the early 'teens there was that innate desire to rule by might and main, and the powers of influence - see? NOW, in the influences -
4. We find one that may be controlled by reason, by love, by honor, by those innate desires to accumulate those forces in power - that is, tempered with justice and with love.
5. In the experiences in the present experience, the changing in will has brought much to the entity in the present, and will - with this continued activity - build that which will bring to the entity that satisfaction and contentment that only controlling of self is possible to bring to an entity. Not satisfied that makes of the stillness, or the inacativity, but that contentment of the life well lived, and the justice done to the brother in the best of the entity's abilities.
6. One that loves the beautiful.
7. One that has much influence with those, especially, born in January and March.
8. One that will find the greatest satisfaction in following close in the teachings of the Master, for a follower - and one of those close to the entity in the earth's sojourn.
9. One that finds the greatest of satisfaction in doing for the other fellow.
10. One that is quick to speak. One that should often think TWICE before speaking, but CONTROLLING of self's emotions is the real strength in the entity, and is that that has been builded much in the present experience.
11. One that finds that, with the constant thought of intent and and purpose brings an understanding from sources not wholly understood by the entity. That is the influence through Uranus and Jupiter.
12. One of high-minded - but NOT of haughty demeanor or look.
13. One that abhors that which would bring to another an untruth in ANY fashion, whether by joke or by intent for gain.
14. One that will gain much of this world's goods through that of holding to the principles that are as criterions, or as ideals in the present experience.
15. One that, when there is that full consciousness of self's ability to rely on those influences as speak from within, in meditation, will be able to attract to self as much as of this world's goods as is desired. WELL does the entity hold that ill-gotten gains can only bring turmoil of self and self's own heart.
16. In the experiences in appearances, and those influences - these, we find many in appearances, and altered and changed conditions in the earth's experience.
17. In the one before this we find in that land now known as England, during the period of the ruler known as Charles the 1st. The entity then was in the line that furnished for the monarch the robe in which the body lay at ease. In this experience the entity was in the name Bernheal. In this experience the entity gained and lost. Gained in the service as oft given to others. Losing in that of feeling or manifesting that royalty, or personage of high estate, should receive favor, and losing in the attempt in self's own LIFE, and attempting to do just that. Yet the influence in the present is respecting apparel, and of those things that have to do with such bodily adornments.
18. In the one before this we find in that period when there were changes in the land of promise, and the entity was called by the Master, in the place of collector of custom, and much has been given to the world through the attempt of the entity to explain the position of his PEOPLES to the Master. The entity then was in the name Matthew. In this experience the entity gained. Gained through the association, through the intent and purport, through the desire to set OTHERS aright. In the present we find that innate which is truth TO the entity, that the entity desires to give to another in the MANNER as received by self.
19. In the one before this we find in that period known as the divisions among those peoples that would learn first of service to man, service to the Creator, in the land now known as Egypt. The entity then was among those who were the keepers of the household of the priest that was sent in banishment. The entity OFFERED the priesthood, but choosing rather to follow him whom he served in the flesh. In this period the entity gained in the ability to serve. Losing only in wrath. Choosing, then, rather to suffer in body than to be broken in spirit. In THIS the entity GAINED. In the misuse of the power gained, when the priest was again in power, the entity lost through the oppressing of those that would speak ill against self or any associated with self. In the name Ilto, and much of the entity's attempts in explaining of position while imprisoned may still be found in that mound not yet uncovered, erected during that period for the king that ruled the land. In the present experience we find those innate influences as the entity often finds in the wrath seen when oppression is made. Again we find that influence of fear in one, when power is given another, when the entity fears the abilities of one in power to use same aright.
20. In the one before this we find in that land known now as India. The entity then was among those peoples when there was the first of barter and sale, or exchange of commodities grown or woven, or made in one land for that of the same in another. The entity then was among those who became the first merchants as were called, in silks, brocades, and such, inflating in same gold, silver, and precious stones. In the name Ulm. The entity gained, lost, and gained through this experience. Gaining in setting many aright in purpose; LOSING in the applying of same, or power, to the detriment of others.
21. In the present ABILITIES of the entity, as is seen, these are varied - and the entity will find most of self's interest centering in barter and sale; yet in the tenets of Him he followed, in the lessons of Him he praised, in the meditation of Him who prayed, in the thought of Him whom he gave the feast for, may the entity find those greater blessings in the understanding of associates of thine own house, of thine own kindred, of thine own peoples, and in living the well rounded life, finding that self may be used in what the hand FINDS to do, and DO it with thy might. In meditation the entity will gain much; not so much as what is ordinarily termed psychic, but rather of the awakening of self's own EXPERIENCES through the many periods in the earth, and the lessons lost or gained there. These, applied in the present experience, especially with that builded in love, will bring the glory of the life well lived, and the blessings from those who contact or know the entity best.

23. (Q) Should the entity devote his entire time to one of his two businesses -
    (A) Two.
24. (Q) Are the employees at his retail shoe business handling the moneys honestly?
    (A) They are, at present.
25. (Q) Will my full lease of four years at my shoe store be carried out or will I be forced out in accordance with the 90 day clause and if so when and where should the business be located in such a case?
    (A) This we do not find changing yet - as has been seen from the experiences of the entity in the present, in the past, or in the LIFE - these may be changed, for man is a portion of his Creator, and may CREATE for self that of good and evil. Choose then, this day, whom thou wilt serve, even as was said of old - but let THY choice be even as Him who led many: "Others may do as they may, but for ME and MY house, WE will serve the Lord!"
