This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Zentgraf, 400 St. Paul's Ave., Stapleton, Staten Island, N. Y., this 29th day of January, 1934, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [424], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [424]. This we have had before. In some respects conditions are improved; in others not so good. There are evidences that a continuation of the use of those influences that make for the deadening of nerve reactions has grown rather than lessened.
2. As we will find, if there will be used the Radio-Active forces for the producing of rest for the body, these will be more effective. [As recommended in 424-1, Par. 26-A for insomnia.]
3. Then, we would change somewhat those things that may be used instead, but if these are used with the hypnotics it will produce nausea. Prepare this:
4. To 4 ounces of compound simple syrup, add:

   Oil of Eucalyptol..................14 minims,
Rectified Oil of Turp...............5 minims,
Tincture of Benzoin................20 minims,
Essence of Wild Ginger.............20 minims,
Sufficient alcohol as
a preservative...............1 1/2 ounces.

5. This may be taken once or twice each day. Preferably take this, half a teaspoonful, in place of those tablets.
6. As for the general system, where there has been the creating for the flushing of the system, use the high enemas the more often for cleansing the colon of those poisons and accumulations that have made for the disorders and distresses in the extremities and through portions of the body, making pressures on the head.
7. Discarding now the tonic, [given in 424-1] we would use preferably this:
8. To 4 ounces of Cherry Pectoral, or Wild Cherry - Syrup of Wild Cherry, as a carrier, add:

   Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla....1/4 ounce,
Tincture of Stillingia............1/4 ounce,
Essence of Indian Turnip............3 minims,
Syrup of Rhubarb..................1/2 ounce,
Alcohol.........................1 1/2 ounces.

9. The dose will be teaspoonful three or four times each day.
10. Be very mindful of the diet, that there are not meats nor white breads taken. Keep a well balanced diet, and especially green vegetables - some should be included in every meal, even for breakfast when you eat fresh or raw fruits - raw vegetables, see?
11. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) Should the massage be continued?
    (A) It should. We didn't leave that out, did we?
13. (Q) Do we understand correctly that all sedatives being used should be discontinued?
    (A) Be discontinued, and use the compound as given in its place; for this is not habit-forming, and is constructive to the system, where poisons have made for disorders in the system.
14. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body?
    (A) Follow these in the order, in the line, in the way given.

1. 4/28/34 Mrs. [424]'s letter to GD: "I have not been so well, having had so many colds. I am better now, and was wondering if I could take a trip alone to ..., Ohio. From 8 p.m. till 11 the next day. My daughter is there and I am very anxious to go about May 15th. Would Mr. Cayce give me his advice? My sleep is somewhat better."
2. 4/30/34 GD's note: "We feel that it would be very wonderful for you to have the trip, and the change should be rather good for you instead of harmful, provided you take the necessary precautions to get yourself in as good shape as possible before leaving. Have you been continuing the Radio-Active Appliance treatments?"
3. 8/27/34 Mrs. [424]'s letter to GD: "Let me thank you for that letter you sent me. I did not go to ..., Ohio yet, but intend doing so this fall.
   "The druggist did not enter the prescription you gave him over the phone [recently]. Would you be kind enough to write it out for me. [J. Green, druggist; 638 Bay St., Stapleton, S.I., N.Y.] It was very good, in fact excellent, and strengthened my limbs.
   "So many things have changed since I saw you last, and I am very miserable at the present time, in fact feeling kind of despondent at times. How wonderful it must be to have a happy old age. But why complain!"
