11/05/33 Mrs. [
428]'s talk at an open meeting:
"My reason for asking my friends here this afternoon is to
show how Mr. Cayce works and in a very small way try to give
a glimpse of the very many ways in which good can come from
him.
"There was a time in my life, when I very bitterly denounced
the medical profession, because remedies prescribed failed to
cure. Other professions were more successful to battle my
condition, but always after strenuous household duties had
been performed, I was ill, and I always had the feeling and
also made it known, that "housework is 'killing' me.
"Then one day, as if by a miracle, Mrs. [
255] told me of
Cayce and it was not long after that I had a reading made.
This, I also must admit, had not happened if Dr. Eifertsen
had not taught me Occultism and its uses. I was familiar
with psychic phenomena of various descriptions and without
hesitation was ready to try it.
"I suppose it is known to most of you here that I have always
had a very strong leaning towards art, but outside of my
husband no one encouraged my endeavors at expression. After
I had nursed my mother through a period of illness, I was
again completely exhausted. I had a reading made to find
out, what the trouble was. One of my questions was: How I
could strengthen my body in order to meet the demands that
were made upon me and Mr. Cayce's answer was that if I
directed my energies into the fields of art, I would feel as
never before. Of course I had heard things like this any
number of times, but never dreamed that it could apply to a
housewife. The jump from the one into the other has not been
easy, as anyone can imagine, but every time in these last
three years, when I was hopelessly 'out', my strength quickly
came back when I busied myself with paper and pencil and also
every time when art work predominated any length of time. I
felt years rolling off my back and the family knew about it
too.
"Therefore, I want to draw attention to the fact, that we so
often condemn physicians and healers, who may do their utmost
for us, but yet, when we learn that a willing housewife's
health is continually kept poor by the wrong occupation, all
of these here can readily understand how I feel towards Mr.
Cayce's work. And although I have been ill again, I am sure
the chosen work for me will build me up again."
11/05/33 Remarks made at the same open meeting at Zentgraf
home by Dr. Christian Peter Eifertsen, D.C.:
This is quite a unique gathering. I've really been
interested in this work since about 17 years of age. I've
never demonstrated nor have I talked very much about it,
because I felt that so many didn't understand - and perhaps I
didn't understand; but this work here - as you have seen
demonstrated - has certainly given me a greater inspiration
to go on. I realize there's something worth while in the
subconscious or superconscious mind; that when we get into
the silence of ourselves we are going to accomplish greater
things, and problems will be solved without outside
interference. Many times I've tried to get information from
others, and I've always found that if I had listened to my
inner self, the things that told me what to do, that was the
time I was most successful. And this work here, while I've
never seen it demonstrated quite this way, but since 17 years
of age I have visited many towns and have always tried to get
better information of some kind from some one interested in
this sort of work. I'm sorry to say, however, that in a
great many instances I have found that people knew little
about it, and tried to make big of it. Here this afternoon,
and I had also the pleasure of sitting in at a reading made
for Mrs. [...] just the other morning which was my first
experience, I can assure you that - though I know nothing
about this, though I know nothing of his work, I know that a
principle is involved - and if we who are interested in that
principle will study it more vividly we will not need to go
outside of ourselves to find the answers to the questions
that we want solved. It certainly has given me a great deal
of pleasure, and I want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Zentgraf for
asking me to come. It has been an instruction I shall never
forget, and I hope I will still have more of it.
12/22/33 Mrs. [
428] obtained Ck. Physical
428-9.
