7/11/69 Vt., Letter from Mrs. [
428] to HLC:
Mr. Hugh Lynn Cayce, Director
Association for Research & Enlightenment,
Virginia Beach, Va. 23451
Dear Hugh Lynn,
"All these years I have been grateful for your kindness
keeping me informed of your activities, which finally
accomplished the rightful standing of your father and I
congratulate you. It was by sheer accident that the N.Y.
Times Book Review brought me the entire story.
"And all along all these years I have held to your father's
teachings concerning my health, but my main trouble could
never be healed, the Intestinal Putrefaction, causing poor
nourishment and constant gas formation, which had to be
relieved by hour-long belching, every day. In past years
I could keep reasonably comfortable, but this past year
foot trouble detracted me and the gas somehow settled in my
whole system unbeknown to me, I felt normal. But all of a
sudden recently, after what appeared to be a slight
toothache, a most frightful pressure-attack lodged in my
right chin, feeling for all the world like a bullet-shot with
accompanying scream, so unbearably it hurt, then followed
by a frightening reaction for at least an hour.
"These attacks continued at irregular times until I applied
massage to relieve the section from gas, which helped, but
only to return at other times, never predictable. A visit
to our Doctor, who was baffled, yet careful, prescribed pills
and my own constant vigilance, belching every few hours, has
seen me through so far, except fainting spells during the
last two days always near
8-10 in the morning. Right now
my Doctor, Mrs. [...] is on vacation and has no substitute
except regular Doctors in other towns, hour-long distances
away, and being utterly discouraged and frightened my
thoughts turned to you for help. In my opinion Doctors are
out, but a good healer would be the last resort, and I felt
you would be about the only person to my knowledge placed in
the best position with all your experience.
"My original reading was made in Virginia Beach Aug. 1st,
1930 [
428-1] in my presence, calling for Osteopathic
treatments, but the only two Doctors who would work from
readings lived too far away for prolonged treatments and
therefore were impossible for me to obtain. I tried one here
in Vermont, but also without results, and this is now one of
the first rare days I have been without pains. (I am
enclosing a copy - part of the original reading.) I am
enclosing $5. - for your help and hope that you can place my
distress before a healer. I am sure there must be some one
in the States and I am willing to pay a reasonable amount,
if wanted.
"I am now 85 years, live in the Green Mountains on an old
applefarm with beautiful wilderness surroundings, all of
which I love. [Daughter [
451]] takes good care of me and
all-over family relations are cordial, and I am very happy
here. I will certainly appreciate your kindness and hope
for your help. I remain,"
Sincerely yours, Mrs. [

7/16/69 Memo from GDT to HLC: "The nearest doctor to her who
has agreed to treat A.R.E. people according to the readings
is: Dr. Frank H. Caffin, [D.O.], Cabot, Vt.
"Her letter sounds like she needs some good old
physiotherapy, colonics, etc. Say Hello to her and to
Dorothea for me when you write."
